We welcome springtime!!
... And another mouthwatering event this Thursday, as Varick and Amaury (Momus) team up again after having played together at Porch. Those who have seen it before know this is not to be missed! So get ready and warm up your dance moves as we bring in the fantastic weather with a fantastic party!
Momus or Momos (µ?µ??) was in Greek mythology the god of satire, mockery, censure, writers, poets; a spirit of evil-spirited blame and unfair criticism. His name is related to µ?µf?, meaning 'blame' or 'censure'. He is depicted in classical art as lifting a mask from his face. Whenever he can, Momus will take over the decks and play sleek groovy beats in order to get the best moves out of its listeners. No mental masturbation here, no request either though.
Varick O’Dea was introduced to the varied and eclectic musical styles of New York while growing up in the city. Toying with different genres, Varick slowly but surely found his rhythm during his time at Eightball Records, where he began mingling in the music industry. Finding the sound that suited him best was the easy part, the difficult part was finding a way to express it. After a gig at Sheik 'n' Beik's weekly rendez-vous at Kush lounge back in 2008 Varick became an instant resident. To this day you will still experience painful soles and blistering heels as Varick applies his blend of minimal infused techno, whether it be at dingy warehouses or sunny rooftops. As Varick steadily progresses, he keeps busy producing tunes for upcoming releases.
