One Good Reason
JOYGASM - "A moment of intense, unfiltered joy or passion."
This gathering marks just over two years since One Good Reason launched with a loft party in Long Island City. We thoroughly enjoy having you with us to meet people, discover new music and share our collective energy.
On Thursday April 28, we invite you to join us at a space we recently discovered in Hell's Kitchen. We are breaking it in, with an eye towards i...t being a regular home for a Thursday monthly. It has two floors (although we will likely stay on the main floor this time). It's a comfortable room, with a chill atmosphere where we can be ourselves. It also has a roof deck, where you can kick back and light up your favorite blend.
We think life is best enjoyed as a series of simple pleasures.
This is one of them. Come get your JoyGasm on.
$5 anniversary tickets @ http://tiny.cc/joygasm
or $5 for first 50 people to arrive before midnight.
Featuring Sound Alchemy by
JOY will spin a spell on you with simply the beat of his heart. His energy and enthusiasm for all things positive beam brightly out of his being.
He spins a fusion of EDM by mixing tech-house, Detroit techno, and house over percussive tribal rhythms with a touch of progressive. His music focuses on deep, funky basslines playing under swinging house grooves lead by a strong sense of melody with a trademark style that gives special attention towards unique arrangements over long, extended mixes.
FRIAR TUCK (NYC)
The Good Friar has been with us from the beginning. A favorite friend who had a brand of booty shaking beats that are sure to get your 'gasm into full swing.
Friar Tuck's musical style has always been diverse - he has an ear for incorporating new beats and sounds into a flow that tells a story and hits the dancefloor in the hips. He ranges from deep & techy house through jazzy & funky house right into funky breaks, acid breaks, hard electro, booty beats, and brazilian baile funk.
Coyote has touched the hearts and souls of many in a very short period of time. Since first attending burning man in the nevada desert, Coyote has been running full speed ahead with a fiery passion. He guides his crowds on a journey that takes them to a place reminiscent of the ancient drum circles of africa and central america. He blends that feeling with contemporary electronic music to create the duality of old and new, ancient yet futuristic. His style ranges from Tribal House to Electro, from Tech House to Progressive and Minimal.
