We're ready to fill the loft once more with the unique and cherished setting we've all create at VOODOO.
This time, our journey will be helmed by an underground lady who's making some huge headlines thanks to her forward thinking work and our friends at Crosstown Rebels and Wolf + Lamb labels' belief in the importance of raising the bar continuously.
Deniz will be performing a live set from her very successful album "Music Watching Over Me" out on Crosstown Rebels.
Some words from Crosstown Rebels:
-----------------------
The Rebel staff recently spent the day in the studio mastering Music Watching Over Me, the incredible debut album by Deniz Kurtel. Featuring 12 sublime tracks, including a completely fresh version of her debut single, 'Yeah', Deniz is certain to enter the techno and house elite with this release. Here is what Deniz has to say about finishing the album "This album truly reflects my complete experience so far in making music. I was lucky to connect with a label that really appreciated my style and my creative journey at such an early stage. As an artist, I always feel like it could be better, but I think that will always be true no matter what level I'm at. The important thing to me is to constantly grow and evolve and make what makes me excited, which I continue to do, hoping it excites others too!" Scheduled for release at the end of February 2011, the album will be accompanied by a new single, 'The L Word', which comes with a very special remix from Guy Gerber.
A bit about Deniz:
-----------
Deniz developed a deep love and connection to the sentiments of electronic music during her studies in the USA. Growing up with constant exposure to art from her mother, an influential art initiator in Turkey, and years of intensive classical piano training left her with a professional work ethic and a passion for art. An accomplished interactive sculptor, she quickly made a name for herself in the experimental art scene combining the use of sophisticated computerized LED arrays and mirrors. Her work has been the centerpiece of countless Wolf + Lamb parties in Brooklyn, and has appeared in various art festivals and exhibitions such as Burningman, Communikey, Horizons, Love's Secret Domain, and Rabbit Hole.
VOODOO in no way intends to exclude, however in order to stay true to VOODOO’S mission, a first come first serve system will be in place.
This is a private event.
