In Sheffield, the summer is a sleepy time. Dwelling as they do in nighttime caves our DJs tend to hibernate at the first sign of sunshine, rising only when awakened by the sound of September's students vomiting into gutters.
But this year, we've got a big party coming up. To make sure everyone's match fit we'll be holding a warm-up shindig at our regular haunt, the Harley, a week before Ivan Smagghe and Patrice Baumel roll into town. Residents SixFootSick and Up and Atom will be blowing the cobwebs out, and we're very pleased to be hosting a good friend and talented spinner who'll be heading up our party...
Luke Willingham has done too much, too young. 20 minutes after being born in Stockport General Hospital he was in a car to Sankeys to warm up for Carl Craig. By four our go-getting young hero was playing all round the north and at eleven he found himself in Ibiza opening Amnesia's main room ahead of Eric Prydz.
Somehow finding time between homework and Scooby Doo to promote parties in Leeds and Sheffield he's hosted the likes of Jamie Jones and Reset Robot over the last year. It's enough to make you a little jealous, no?
He'll be bringing his deep tech sound to the Harley just for us, and we couldn't be happier.
Coming just a week before our throwdown at Snow Lane we're offering free entry for this event to anyone who's got a ticket for Ivan Smagghe and Patrice Baumel. These are currently available online at £8 (RA and Skiddle). If you don't like all this digital malarkey and want a physical thing you can hold in your hand then you're in luck; tickets will be in the shops by the weekend. Keep your eyes on the fan page to find out exactly when and where.
