A few short years ago a group of high school students from Berkeley, CA dropped a track that would change the face and direction of an entire generation of rappers and producers. As we all know by now The Pack’s “Vans” was a phenomena that took the rap world by storm and behind that track was an upcoming producer by the name of Young L. Since that time Young L has continued to pioneer the sound and philosophy behind the “Based” movement and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
In late 2010 Young L was featured in the FADER along with Lil B and Tyler The Creator of Odd Future and has continued to grace the pages of the FADER with videos and mixtapes throughout 2011. Most recently Young L made a guest appearance on “Hip-Pop” with Canadian DJ/dancer/producer extraordinaire Lunice who is also turning the world on it’s ear with his sonic explorations and his visual interpretations of future Blap.
Low Limit one half of the beat tweaking Lazer Sword needs no introduction. After a whirlwind of worldwide tours and critically acclaimed releases Low Limit is hitting the ground running churning out remixes for the likes of Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing and Shlohmo all the while sampling original material during his live set that is leaving crowd searching for more.
Fresh off the plane from a performance at SONAR. San Francisco beat maker, video producer, event promoter and all around taste maker DJ Dials will be curating the music for the night along with Jaws da Jormungand who blew minds with his opening DJ set for Jamie XX.
Needless to say this will be a night of music and performances not to be missed so come get with the movement!
