‘Ray Harris’ has been classified as a musical mosaic featuring a wide variety of styles and influences.
With an emphasis on Acid Jazz, Soul & Funk Music ‘Ray Harris & The Fusion Experience’ make an anticipated return to Pivo Glasgow (14/07/11) to perform the only Scottish date on this year’s UK tour schedule. ‘Ray Harris & The Fusion Experience’ will be exclusively showcasing new unreleased tracks as well as expected crowd favourites!
A graduate of the National Jazz Institute in the UK, Harris highlights opening for the Godfather of Soul Mr James Brown as one of his highlights in his career, previous supports include Funk Legends The Average White Band, MTV Winners Jaga Jazzist and MOBO Winner Denys Baptiste. Ray Harris has also performed with Ian McCulloch (Echo & The Bunnymen).
It has not taken long for this award winning Artist to create a dedicated fan base and gain recognition as one of the most innovative emerging music writers and performers today. Harris’ influences are clearly evident on his studio albums and live performances with a distinctive feel of 60s’ & 70’s music with a modern concept;
Prestigious record releases worldwide include European label Record Kicks (Italy), P-Vine Records / Think Records (Japan) and also DeMajors (Indonesia). These releases have coincided with extensive touring of Asia with performances in Indonesia, Malaysia, China, and Japan as well as extensive touring performances within the UK & Europe.
Support comes from local rock hero’s ‘The Toi’ featuring guitar virtuoso Pol Healy, adding to the bill are Mod Rock Blues Band ‘The V Tones’. Opening the night is debutant Indie phunksters ‘Marillo’
