Were back after the 1st birthday last month, which saw an excitable Cosmic Ballroom crowd witness mint sets by both Damian Lazarus and Pablo Cahn. The venue was a nice change of scene and before we head back to our home at The Other Rooms on September 17th, we are having a rather special Boat Party up and down the Tyne!

Headlining the occasion is the hugely talented Darius Syrossian (Viva / 8-Bit / Area Remote / Get Physical), plus there is a free after party at the intimate settings of the Cosmic Ballroom’s Boudoir.

Hailing from Leeds, Darius Syrossian has successfully made his name as a DJ, producer, label boss and radio host at a global level. One of Steve Lawler's protégés and one the main members of Lawler’s huge VIVa MUSiC label. He recently completed a tour of the States along with Lawler playing everywhere from Los Angeles, San Diego New York, Chicago, Miami and Toronto. Darius also hosts the bi-weekly VIVa Music Radio show, which reaches thousands of listeners in over 30 countries; past guests have included Stacey Pullen, Guti and Soul Clap.

His productions have landed on such acclaimed labels as Area Remote, 8 Bit, Monique Musique, VIVa MUSiC and his own imprint Breakout Audio that has released his collaborations with Paul Woolford, Julian Chaptal and Pier Bucci. Two Motion favorites in particular are the massive 2010 track 'Luis Conte' co-produced with Nyra, and the recent ‘Stay up dancing, Get in Monday’, which has been included on the Cocoon Ibiza summer 2011 mix compilation CD mixed by Adam Beyer and Dorian Paic. He was also hand picked along side 16 other artists by Radio 1 host Heidi to make a track exclusively for her new mix series Jackathon on the Berlin label Get Physical Music.

Before Darius Jets off to the States to tour for a few weeks playing 8 gigs for the Identity festival, playing the Beatport stage in Detroit, Boston, New Jersey & New York amongst others in August, we cant wait to have him to smash the Motion Boat and afters.

7pm prompt @ Quayside (in front of Pitcher & Piano) finishes at 12.30.

After party @ Cosmic (starts at 11 for anyone who wishes to join but couldn’t get a boat ticket) finishes at 4am.
After party entry is £5 without a boat ticket
