We are back in The Horse and Groom in Shoreditch with another installment of our monthly party.
The Horse and Groom or "The Disco Pub" as she is fondly known in Clubland cirlcles is located at slightly quiter end of Curtain Road. With traditional yet quirky interior, fitted with a state of art soundsystem and our monthly portion of freshly harvested, organic, free roaming beats - fun is firmly on the menu.
MONIKA ROSS - Originating from Sydney, Monika has been engulfed in the electronic music scene since 2000.
Being at the forefront of underground deep and tech house she began establishing a name for herself playing at intimate clubs involved with Sydney's intricate scene. It was during this time that Monika got involved in radio and landed a slot hosting and producing `Frequency’, FBI Radio’s Friday night electronic show.
Fresh on the scene both behind the decks and on the air her innovative style and approach to broadcasting proved to have an infectious effect on her listeners both on the air and in the clubs.
Since residing in London in 2008, she soon established herself within London’s growing music scene. The east’s magnetic culture along with the discovery of ambitious London artists and Labels proved to be a substantial influence on her music.
Monika Ross’s mixing style is marked by deep, percussive and diverse sounds with soulful bass lines and unique vocal elements.
DIGI DEL - Adel's (aka Digi Del) was always mesmerized by electronic music. From his early childhood through tunes of Jean Michel Jarre and Iranian psychadelic rock, developing into obsession with house and then techy beats and minimal electronic sounds later in life.
His DJing career started with his arrival to London in 2000. Within months he found myself DJing in such venues as legendary Fridge in Brixton, Ministry of Sound, Turnmills and Exit Bar in Brick Lane where he held his residency and promoted his night called Traffic.
His music taste was influenced by such producers as Carlo Lilo, paul ritch, Santos and Darius Syrossian.
After a small career break Digi Del came back as a resident of Love Asylum. He is also currently trying his hand at production and no doubt his passion for music in foreseeable future will go from strengths to strengths
