To encompass the heart, thoughts, insights, stories and soul of legendary folk singer/songwriter Woody Guthrie (1912-1967) into one performance would be a nearly impossible task, even for the man himself. Fortunately for music lovers and audiences around the world there is a group of talented musicians who have dedicated themselves to just that task. “A performance of Woody's songs, poetry and collected writings by an all - star cast of folkies. Less a concert than a master class on Guthrie's American folk, his life-in-song." Just like Woody Guthrie, the Ribbon of Highway show promises to be simply profound.

This performance is the conclusion of the first annual Folks on the Island Concert series. As with all shows in the series, this event is free and open to the public. Free ferry service to the island is available from the Battery Maritime Building which is located adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry. (R, W to Whitehall).
