Line-up / The Casanova Wave, Solar Taxi
Thursday 18th August see two of Waterford's most exciting acts The Casanova Wave & Solar Taxi come to The Twisted Pepper, providing an opportunity to catch these two highly tipped bands in the one night.
The Casanova Wave emerged onto the Irish music scene during the Autumn of 2010 and it wasn't long before his unique style of music enraptured all who had the luck to encounter it. His performances and debut EP have won over the ears, hearts and dancing feet of the masses.
Mid-September 2010 saw the release of the self-titled The Casanova Wave EP which has been receiving rave reviews. Among these acclamations, included a much coveted mention in The Irish Times 'Best Irish Acts of 2010' list, an appearance at Whelans' Ones To Watch 2011 festival and a listing in State magazine's "Faces of 2011" feature.
In under a year The Casanova Wave is already becoming a festival circuit regular, having played the Vantastival festival earlier this year and has also been booked for Castlepalooza.
"She Dies With Beautiful Teeth" - the new EP from Solar Taxi sounds like a band that have landed on their feet. From the catchy opening electro pop of "The Fool" to the soulful acoustic "White Lights" , this diverse EP takes the listener on a journey that's very different to anything that's in Ireland at the moment. Their influences range from Goldfrapp, The Knife to 70’s guitar bands such as Led Zeppelin.
Fronted by what the Sun called 'the phenomenal vocal talents of Aisling Browne' the Ep has been revieving excellent reviews in the press ( "...infectious, thumping & glorious for starters. With a start as strong as this, we can't wait to hear where they go" The Star, "the hottest thing on the Waterford scene since O Emperor shot out of the traps" Hotpress, 'excellent' - The Sun, )
The recently formed Waterford 4-piece have already been asked to support 50 Cent at the Waterford Music Festival and have playing on the Hot Press/Jagermeister Freezer Sessions tour.
