Main Stage

Terry Mullan : Coin Slot, Chicago

Terry Mullan, Chicago's turntablist extraordinaire, turns out dance floors week after week throughout the US and abroad. Any true fan of House Music knows his name, and celebrates his amazing DJ sets. His credits include Coachella, Starscape, Bugged Out, The End, Footwork, and Ruby Skye amongst raves as far off as Japan, Australia and Germany. He has developed a faithful following to those who know through his signature style of funky quirky jacking acid house combined with cutting and scratching making up an entirely new genre all his own.
The eighties posed as the formative years of Terry's career. Although his roots began in hip-hop, he found himself smack in the middle of the Chicago house explosion. House and Disco were styles of music that were entirely new to Terry, but the match was struck. Soon after gaining inspiration from Chicago air personalities like Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Fast Eddie, Armando, & Mike "Hitman" Wilson via 102.7 WBMX, Terry made house his home. Next, when acid house hit the US, the link was completed; Terry found the sound he was looking for. It was that added flavor he was waiting for, something new, twisted and forward. Now all the elements were coming together. And with the addition of the Detroit sound, this was it, three different languages, disco, house and techno. They could all translate the same message together or apart from one another. With his fluent style, these languages reflect his DJ'ing as well as the tracks he's now composing, which is his way of furthering the evolution of dance music.
For the future, Terry is going beyond just knowing his machines. This sound is put to the test on his releases on Robsoul, Definitive, Control, Funk'd, Chicago Housing Commission, Aciiieeed, and on his own imprint, Catalyst Recordings. Through his label he has released projects for the likes of DJ Sneak, Ian Pooley, Halo Varga, Mazi, Angel Alanis & TJR, as well as for himself under the monikers, Acid OG's, Speakerphreaker, Tone Broke, and as Serotonin project on Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva's former imprint Definitive which featured Terry's track "Sidewinder" on the Chemical Brothers "Brother's Gonna' Work It Out" Mix CD. Additionally, Terry gained notoriety for his records under the alias Speakerphreaker which includes the largely successful "Products Of Our Environment" EP, on Catalyst, which was featured on Pete Tong's essential selection on BBC Radio 1 in the UK, & "La Nina/Nickel Bag Da Funk" EP on Smile Records, which was licensed to several top DJ mix compilations. Terry's DJ'ing, label and tracks have earned him a reputation that extends worldwide. Never one to follow the masses, he borrowed from each genre to create what we all know to be Terry's sound, putting a bad ass twist on an otherwise conservative house scene. This man is truly a living legend.

Progress

The project of Yuriy Vaskevich, is an evolution of sound that brings a world of fantasy and imagination to its listeners. Based in New York City, an energetic hub, the music is a reflection of its physical origin as well as the mental evolution of its composer. With a strong foundation in classic music, mainly of piano and guitar and a post-modern ambition, the sound is both organic and electronic. The project began in the late 1990s with an exploration of personal identity and experimentation with various styles of electronic music. Today, PROGRESS, ranges in style from psychedelic trance, ambient and chill-out, to avant-garde and experimental. Having played at several live venues in the United States and written film scores, PROGRESS has a rapidly growing acclaim. As the name implies, the music is always progressing with the common denominator being its inspiring melodies and a strong tendency to take its listeners on a colorful journey.

During his 7-year tenure, DJ X-Dream has helped propel the label, into hugely successful venture with a permanent place in the rich history of the East Coast dance community. Vertical Mist

Vertical Mist was founded in 2010 by Max Ratchkauskas and Victor Ayzenshtat, who came together to combine their musical experience with one goal in mind: to create electronic music that will make people dance. Their music genres span the gamut of electronic music including: Progressive, Trance, Techno and everything in between.
Max Ratchkauskas,
Born in Israel, Max now lives in New York City. Music has always been a big part of his life. He started playing piano at an early age, and throughout the years, developed a taste for the world of electronic music.
While living in London, Max spent a lot of time at the famous Ministry of Sound Club where he became addicted to electronic music. Max started producing electronic music in 2006 with apparent influences from artists such as: Paul Van Dyk, DJ Tiesto, The S.U.N Project, Armin Van Buuren, and many more. Max’s music style spans various genres: Progressive House, Psy-Trance, Dance, and much more.
Victor Ayzenshtat,
Born in Minsk, Belarus, but living in Israel and New York for more than half of his life, Victor dived into the world of music at an early age. Starting from his classical piano-playing days in the former soviet republic through his exposure to pop, hip-hop and rock, Victor eventually landed into the sphere of electronic music. The legendary Paul van Dyk nights at the famous Twilo nightclub in New York during the late '90s have formed his electronic taste to a large degree, but many others have influenced his sound (including Sasha & Digweed, Max Graham, Deep Dish and Nu NRG to name a few). Victor has been DJing since 1999 and has held residencies at various clubs in Manhattan and Brooklyn, with occasional gigs around the tri-state area as well as private parties. Although his sets usually consist of Progressive and Trance music, they reflect the many musical influences he's went through and therefore you may hear him play anything from Progressive and Hard Trance, Tech and Progressive House, Techno as well as occasional Minimal and Psy-Trance tunes. Whatever is the style(s) of music an occasion calls for, in his sets Victor always tries to do the same: connect with the crowd and take it through a memorable experience by sharing his love of the music (and the music he loves) through his unique and uplifting style of DJing.

Fractal Phono

Fractal Phono is best known for his “quirky and murky” psychedelic progressive trance DJ sets, as well as occasionally playing tripped out minimal techno. As resident DJ for Gaian Mind in Philadelphia, USA, Rory has evangelically spread the Zenon sound across the land. Super squishy, yet articulate bass lines, and deep-dark, psychedelic grooves have always been the main ingredients in F.P.‘s performances regardless of genre.

Dave Dittmer

"I've been playing Psytrance since the day I began DJing, about 12 years ago. My early influences were Darshan, Psysex, and Infected Mushroom, all played on vinyl. Later, I focused mainly on progressive psy for a couple years and made the switch to CDJs. These days I play various types of full-on using a laptop. I combine the most intense and powerful tracks I can find with some subdued and elegant 'morning style' tracks to create an interesting dynamic between the two extremes. Expanding my musical horizons is always a priority, and you may sometimes see me playing tech/prog/house on a side stage. When I'm not DJing or teaching music, I work with the Sonic Beating crew in Boston to throw our recurring parties at Rise and 'Psyforia' at Machine. Boston is my home, but I also love my NYC psy family and I can't wait to come out there again to play my trippiest tracks for you. BOOM!" ~Dave D.

In love with electronic music since he was a child, Keith appreciates all forms of electronic music as long as it is interesting, complex, or unique. Lately he has been captivating audiences with high intensity psychedelic trance, or deep, groovey techno, tech house, and progressive. Regardless, his set will for sure suck you in, and leave you grinning.
