Well this really is a big deal for us! Alongside the likes of Alter Ego and Tiefschwarz, Black Strobe released some legendary dark dancefloor fillers which were a massive influence on us when we first started Killer Kitsch. Records such as Italian Fireflies and their remix of Tiefschwarz - Ghost Track still feature regularly in our sets today.

Formed in Paris in 1997 by Arnaud Rebotini and Ivan Smagghe, they initially produced music house music, but then went broadened their sound by taking influence from music from the 1970s and 1980s, especially industrial and EBM. In 2002 they released their breakthrough single Me and Madonna. By this point they had become a major part of the rising electroclash scene.

Black Strobe quickly became much sought after remixers and worked with such diverse artists as The Rapture, Royksopp, Depeche Mode, Dave Clarke and Rammstein. In 2007 though Smagghe departed to concentrate more on his DJ'ing, and Rebotini kept Black Strobe going but mainly as a live entity.

This year will see the re release of 'Italian Fireflies' and a Best of 13 Years of Black Strobe released
