Elementz is very proud to present one of the most unique and eclectic artists, not just in Drum & Bass but in electronic music as a whole.
If you gaze into the heart of drum & bass and then look slightly to the left, you’ll find a slightly scruffy man, staring lovingly back towards the centre. That man is undoubtedly Tom Withers, best known as drum & bass artist Klute.
How he got there is a long and winding tale. Unlike most junglists, it starts with a 1980s hardcore/punk band called The Stupids out of which a long and passionate love affair with rave, Detroit techno and then jungle evolved.
Over the past decade Klute has lent his creativity to the likes of Certificate 18, Metalheadz, Hospital, 31 Records, Soul:R, Shogun Audio, and US imprints Violence & Breakbeat Science, as well as finding the time to release 5 artist albums and a whole host of singles on his Commercial Suicide label.
This year saw the release of Klute’s fifth artist album The Emperors New Clothes and with it a world tour reaching Melbourne on Saturday 8th September at Miss Libertine. The album, like all of Klute’s music, speaks for itself. Our only advise is go and buy yourself a copy, sit back and turn up the volume.
In the spirit of the album and the genres represented we have lined up some of Melbournes finest offering both Drum & Bass and Techno across 2 rooms. In the main room playing Drum and Bass; Trooper, Keir, Dust, Joe Seven & JPS. In the front bar; Thomas Kliroc (Hip Hop) Sean & B-low (Broken Beat / Detroit set) Deviant and JBS (Techno).
