The Big Chill Presents returns to the Big Chill Bar this September with a very special one-off event from Smirnoff Black City Exchanges – Be Here. Bringing some of the freshest American DJ’s over to showcase their love for all things reggaeton, crunk, futurebass and electronica, the guys in the know have enlisted the talents of Ghosts On Tape (Numbers), TURRBOTAX® residents Contakt and Rem Koolhaus, Unknown to the Unknown and a special guest appearance from Katapult's, Chris Julien, flying in for the afternoon live and direct from Amsterdam's hottest night.
San Francisco based Ghosts On Tape smashed onto the scene back in 2009 when Radio One’s Mary Anne Hobbs tapped him for an exclusive mix on her show. Signed to the esteemed, Numbers, (home to the likes of Jamie XX, Hudson Mohawke, Mosca and Deadboy), Ghosts On Tape effortlessly manages to join the dots between many genres, taking the best elements of tropical house, UK funky, dancehall and bmore. He is also co-founder and resident of the ICEE HOT parties in San Francisco, where he presents some of the hottest flavours coming out of the UK. More recently Ghosts on Tape released a compilation ‘Frite Nite Surreal Estate’ – which has already received early support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs. To say we’re excited for him to kick off are Sunday all-dayer would be an understatement!
Recently dropping his new EP alongside Mayster, on the ever tropical, Dutty Artz, Contakt debuts at the bar alongside New York’s Rem Koolhaus. Both residents for XLR8R’s monthly party TURRBOTAX® which just celebrated two years in the game, the club night has been responsible for consistently bringing quality bass music to New York and we’re expecting no less from their showcase here in London.
Amsterdam’s hottest club night Katapult will be represented by resident Chris Julien, Responsible for brining the likes of Azari & III, Holy Ghost and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs to Amsterdam, Katapult prides itself of razor-sharp line-ups of the very best talent worldwide and we can’t wait for a taste of their musical madness here at the bar.
Also on hand is our very own Unknown to The Unknown, playing tracks from the critically acclaimed label UTTU. Support comes on the night from out residents Phonica DJ’s.
This event is proudly sponsors by Smirnoff Black.
