‘I just wanted a quiet spa
ce in my house. That’s all I wanted. Somewhere I could.....be quiet.’
Katherine is creating a “quiet space” in her living room. Or, at least, that was the plan seventeen weeks ago when Leo, Jakey and 15 year old Bizzy turned up to make her dream reality. Now she thinks she may be on the edge of a nervous breakdown. Or murder. Or both! Murray Gold’s refreshing play brilliantly demonstrates what can happen when personal territory is invaded and traditional class boundaries and faulty wiring are ignored.
The play is written by Murray Gold, who apart from being recognised as one of the most inspired and uncompromising composers, from his ground-breaking, BAFTA-nominated score of Vanity Fair and Dr Who, to the RTS Award-winning soundtrack for Queer as Folk. Is an critically acknowledged writer, winning the Michael Imison Memorial Prize for Best New Radio Play in 2002 for Electricity, commissioned by BBC Radio 3.
This production will mark Katie Warren’s debut as director and will be starring some of London’s most promising and experienced actors including, Mansel David (Yes Prime Minister, Heidegger's Shadow, Copenhagen), Anthony Dunn (Buddy, Murdoch Mysteries, The Upper Hand), Berri George (Dangerous Liaison’s, Amadeus) , Darren Godbold and Zachariah Fletcher.
