Jerome got his turntables in 1990 after being inspired by the pirate radio sounds of London. He began buying hip hop, house, break beat and early European techno.
In 1994 he hooked up with infamous London sound system JIBA and further developed his scratching and mixing style for which he has now become known.
Always making an effort to be original and different he began getting booked by London promoters and has played alongside many of techno’s great innovators including Landstrumm, Rother, Forshaw and Subhead… Drawing influences (in his techno sets) from the Chicago sound of Relief and Dancemania combined with the no-school sound of Brighton and Edinburgh and finished off with a healthy dose of hedonistic party-rocking butress-beats, he plays a mixture of everything encompassing all techno strains, HipHop, ragga, Old hardcore and everything in between…all with a SPECIAL twist and never losing the flow !! Was recently given a mention in DJ magazine’s top 100 DJ’s 2003 by fellow Londoners Chris Liberator and Dave the Drummer as someone to definitely watch out for.
A very versatile DJ, he is equally at home playing sets of techno, breaks, fat soul, hiphop, ragga, electro, old skool, house, comedy electronica or rock n roll, but more often than not, you’ll hear a set geared towards the music policy of the night with influences and random party tracks thrown in the blender from most if not all of the above.
He is resident DJ at UGLYFUNK club night now based in London and plays around the world in countries like Brazil, Spain, France, Poland, and Venezuela as well as up and down the UK. When he`s not gigging he plays every weekend at London warehouses for sound systems (Bedlam, Manik, Black Sheep, Restless Natives etc.)
He managed London`s “Trackheads” and “Dragon Discs” record shops in Camden Town for 7 years, specialising in techno and electro, until leaving the UK in early 2004 for Brazil where he now lives, making regular trips back to Europe.
Jerome is half of GROOVE ASYLUM, (the other half being Rob Stow) who featured on DONT 001+002 and a host of other labels. They also play live PAs, and Jerome could be found keeping the crowd guessing what`s coming next on London sound systems every weekend, but is currently spreading his ‘musical seed’ across Brazil as part of his mission to keep discovering and promoting new, interesting and outlandish music.
(Lucie Younger) has been playing and writing music since the tender age of seven and has been actively and professionally involved with the music industry for the last 8 years including working for Hedkandi,Kinetic records and even a spell at Boozey and Hawkes!..
Her love affair with techno began as with so many others, with the now classic 1995 'Jeff Mills' live at the liquid rooms' mix cd.
After moving to London she soon landed a job with kinetic records running the in house record pressing brokers, managing over 150 labels.
Lucie is one of the very few female dj's in London active in pushing scenes forward, staging her own clubnights, producing her own tracks and running her own label VICTIM RECORDINGS.
Her sets incorporate a variety of different styles, from funk, to hip hop; old skool to techno; breaks to drum and bass...her sets focus on the harder end of the sound whilst still being both accessible and innovative. In a Lusinda set, you can expect a powerful array of colourful noise, bleeps and bad ass metallic melodies, underpinned by the freshest of ruff techno beats, fat breaks (always adding a few old skool UK breaks to the cauldron) and a strong jacking Chicago feel.
During the last 3 years Lusinda has played across the globe in Venezuela, Spain, Italy, Poland, Belgrade,Bulgaria, Czech Republic and recently completed a successful series of gigs in Brazil and will be returning there again at the end of 2006 to give the people more. She also plays up and down the UK for infamous clubnights in cities such as Edinburgh, Leeds, Sheffield, Cardiff, Rhyl (N.Wales), Nottingham, Bristol and regularly on the London Techno circuit.
Her Label VICTIM RECORDINGS ( founded in 2003) is going from
strength to strength and has found fans across the world and has graced the crates of DJ's as diverse as Carl Cox, Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, Cari lekebusch, Bill Youngman, Trevor Rockliffe, DJ Bam Bam, DJ Urban and arguably the worlds greatest DJ , Sir John Peel RIP , who blessed the label by actually phoning to voice his appreciation of the copy that he'd been sent.
Artists already released on the label include MARK HAWKINS, SUBHEAD, ROLAND THE BASTARD, EDIT, ESTHER OFEI, LUKE'S ANGER, JEROME HILL and LUSINDA herself.
With music already released on her own VICTIM imprint and labels such as R.A.W. and SUBMISSIONS, 2006 has seen many productions completed and ready for release on other labels featuring collaborations with DJ MEM (Nasty Colour, portugal), EDIT ( Miditonal, Uglyfunk), ESTHER OFEI (Neue Heimat, Sheer), JEROME HILL (don't recordings), DEAN RODELL (Planet Rhythm, Drumworks) and GUY McAFFER (Geezer, R.A.W.)
Robbie Ryan :
As a DJ no one can question his versatility; whether he's creating a night woven with dark and dirty beats, or charging up the dance floor with electronic tracks bursting with blistering bouncing bass lines, Robbie intuitively works a room with his creative mixing and programming style. Hot press magazine wrote in 2008: "Sensational hot dirty banging bouncy but somewhat dark beats"
