MotorCity Wine is extremely happy to present an evening celebrating Mike Huckaby's extremely well received Sun Ra edits on the Kindred Spirits label.

Mike Huckaby is a dance music purist extraordinaire. Being an integral part of the Detroit dance scene, he was the man behind the legendary Record Time store and as such gathered an encyclopedic knowledge of music. Mike is one of those rare guys who know all the roots and culture of electronic dance music, who see beyond the hype and divisions in the scene and know exactly what this music is. He is the kind of purist whose love for music has literally had him flown around the globe. Huckaby also produced for labels like Rick Wade’s renowned Harmonie Park outfit, London’s Cross Section or his own ventures Deep Transportation resp. Synth. Apart from his activities as a DJ and producer, he also works as a sound designer and a tutor for the software company Native Instruments, and Ableton teaching Reaktor and Live around the world, as well as for a special Detroit youth foundation project called “YouthVille”.

Craig Huckaby (Truth Manifest)

Master percussionist, DJ and poet Craig Huckaby enjoys turning audiences on to music from around the world. He began his DJ career in 1986, collecting influential mixtapes from legendary DJ Ken Collier and Farley “Jackmaster” Funk. As a founding member of the DJ collective Rhythmic Fusion, he toured the country in 2009 at full speed, blazing the tables with relentless heat. Craig is a founding member of the DJ collective Central Sessions. A native Detroiter, Craig currently collaborates and performs with many artists including Malik Alston, and is an inventive remixer for Truth Manifest Records. He has a weekly residency at the Funk Loft in Detroit, focused on sharing the love of good music.

Joshua Adams - all vinyl dancefloor jazz set

Artist, musician and DJ Joshua Adams has garnered attention in many forms. His debut release "Changing Lanes" may be the first solo venture, but for twenty years Josh has played drums in a diverse range of Funk, Rock, Jazz, Punk, Classical, Swing and Reggae bands.

He co-founded the EB collective as a drummer with Exchange Bureau, DJ nd vocalist in the Affiliates Program, and a producer and vocalist in the British Knights. On hand percussion, Joshua has performed across the country and recorded for artists such as Roy Davis Jr. and Waajeed (Platinum Pied Pipers).

As a DJ since 1999, Joshua has taken his diverse influences in hand to develop a unique DJ set drawing from many different forms of music. He has been known to do everything from obscure, quirky house and broken beat, '80s breaks, old scool funk, and everything in between.
