Reggae Roast returns to The CAMP Basement for another night of quality roots & culture, welcoming special guests, Channel One Sound System. Mikey Dread & Ras Kayleb will be passing through for an exclusive 2-hour set, testing the limits of the blistering 20k sound system, sending bass rumblings across the streets of east London. This is not to be missed!

Channel One should need no introduction, having been one of the UKs leading sounds for 30 golden years. Last year they earned themselves the title of ‘Champions of the Redbull Culture Clash’, seeing off competition from the likes of Skream & Benga, Mettalheadz & Soul Jazz Records, officially making them the leaders of sound system culture in the UK.

They return after an uplifting set at the Reggae Roast new years eve party for another lesson in the power of bass, drums and steppers riddims. Controller Mikey Dread will be dropping his legendary selection of conscious records spanning 5 decades. Ras Kayleb supplies lyrical chants, commanding the audience and elevating the energy in the CAMP basement.

Also playing on the night will be founders of Reggae Roast Exel & Moodie and resident selector; Dub Hunter. This months session will be hosted by Ramon Judah. Expect to hear the freshest selection of classic revival, dub, steppers & dubstep, as well as forthcoming offerings from the Reggae Roast Records label, including the forthcoming ‘Sensi Skank’ EP.

This bi-monthly residency continues to promote the strength of real roots music and provides for the demand for a conscious club night. As always this event is only £5 before 11pm and capacity is limited to 250 so arrive early for guaranteed entry.
