GiangStar (English pronunciation of Vietnamese origination: “Yang-Star”)
Widely known for her eclectic mix of funky house, GiangStar started building her solid foundation of music at the age of SIX, playing the piano, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, drums, and singing in the choir throughout her school years. Obviously, her talents have broadened by using her deep-seated musical roots to become one of the most sought after female house DJs in Southern California.
GiangStar loves to get the crowd dancing and has graced the stage of some of LA and Hollywood’s most popular nightclubs, including King King, Circus, Joseph’s Cafe, the Standard Hotel, Hollywood Canteen, El Cid, Hollywood & Highland, and GrandStar. In addition to holding her own residencies at Kettle n Keg (Fullerton), Proof Bar & Lounge (Santa Ana), and Mu Martini Bar (Redlands) from 2006-2008, her talents have also been showcased at numerous house parties, corporate events, radio, fashion and art shows, and retail clothing stores. GiangStar is currently a resident DJ at Disney California Adventure Park for the elecTRONica block party. With all of this, she’s rocked with house music’s best, including Colette, Joshua Heath, DJ Heather, Ken ECB, Johnny Fiasco, Pete Dafeet, Wally Callerio, Miles Maeda, Jason Hodges, Marques Wyatt, Honey Dijon, Justin Martin, JT Donaldson, Miles Maeda, and Doc Martin …literally, naming just a minute few of the many.
GiangStar also takes an active role behind-the-scenes, helping set up live broadcasts for House Music TV (InSoulWeTrust.com) from some hot events, including Balance @ King King, Deep, and Melodic. In April 2009, she won 2nd place in the International DJ Mix Competition on InSoulWeTrust.com. More recently, in September 2010, she launched her weekly radio show titled Star Sessions on InSoulWeTrust.com, which currently records the stations most active listeners every week.
With a love for house music that is none other than pure, Dan Treloar’s story as one of Australia’s most talented producer/DJ’s/remixers is growing at an exponential rate. As a producer, Dan’s distinct sound captures a unique vibe that is unforgettable to the listener. His music embraces the very essence of what house music represents. His productions continue to grow with a string of originals and remixes released on well-respected labels like Salted Music, Drop Music, Guesthouse, Flapjack, Mindtravel, Kinjo, and his very own imprint Inspected Music.
Not only is Dan a remarkable producer, he is also known for his high quality dj sets; taking dancefloors on a journey with serious booty shaking grooves. Recently, Dan is making his international debut; now NYC at the Brooklyn Shakedown and most recently with tours in Los Angeles and Miami for Winter Music Conference 2011. His gigs at WMC 2011 at The Whitelaw, Clevelander, D’Vine Lounge, and Adidas store, supported premiere global House artists including Random Soul, Jay-J, Soulmagic, Chuck Love, Stacy Kidd, Dave Allison, Jorge Watts, DJ Meme, and Sonny Fodera.
With repeated chart success, Dan remains dedicated to his individual and unique style of house music. 2011 is moving him far-forward.
