Bringing the dirty drum kicks and booming bass back to Chinese Laundry on
Friday September 30th is a double header of two of Drum n Bass’ biggest players, CULTURE SHOCK and THE QEMISTS!
With a production style that has blown the minds of some of DnB’s biggest names, Culture Shock is set to serve the Laundry with shockwaves of bass that’ll leave the entire City of Sydney vibrating.
The classically trained Culture Shock first made waves amongst DnB heavyweights with the release of his 2004 ‘Vega EP’, and was quickly snatched up by Andy C and signed with the legendary Ram Records. Under this prestigious label, Culture Shock has continued to churn out some of Drum n Bass’ biggest bangers to date,
including his collaboration with the Brookes brothers on the track “Rework” on his critically acclaimed 2007 EP, ‘The Third Stage’. With his recent remix of Nero’s “Guilt” receiving nearly half a million YouTube hits since it was uploaded in May, Culture Shock’s revival of the Drum n Bass scene is not to be missed!
Smashing Laundry with their critically acclaimed concoction of DnB and rock, The Qemists’ fresh take on the Drum n Bass scene has already earned them a fevered following across the globe for their ballistic dance music. After their first tracks were released for Mastermind Records in 2004
The Qemists were quickly snatched up by Coldcut’s label Ninja tune, with their 2009 debut album “Join the Q” balancing a blend of Jungle, Metal and Dancehall bangers to devastating effect. Their latest album “Spirit In The System” once again fuses the dynamics of Rock with the tempos of DnB and visceral rush of Rave into a sound that’s fearlessly all their own, and yours to experience at Chinese Laundry!
