In 2003, a new musical phenomenon erupted on the underground- this new sound was described as pirate soul, producing stylish soulful reworks of some of the most prominent and unknown hip hop and R&B artists from the States. The newly started Blackbeard alongside fellow soul producers Yam Who? would champion this style reinventing such records as Common's 'Come Close 2 Me', Jill Scott's "Golden" and Raphael Sadiq. For this One Bad Habit party we're bringing the safari back to The Book Club for a straight up night of disco, edits and the odd hidden gem. Expect a musical menage as two of London's favourite producers drop in for a showcase on the book club wheels of steel!
