December 10th. Heavy, machine-driven bass from an artist at the top of the UK bass scene. On Subland's monster Clear Sound rig, nicknamed the 'Beast from the East'...
Skank is back and this time round we got a special live set from Neil Landstrumm. Armed with a his bag of hardware, he'll be hijacking elements from 90s rave, dubstep, electro and techno. Its gonna be badder than Mr. Bundy.
A fixture of the UK underground scene since 1994, Neil Landstrumm has released work on many of the most recognised labels in the industry. Starting with Peacefrog, shifting gears to Berlins’ Tresor Records, he then upped the bass-game onto arguably the UKs’ greatest electronic label of the moment, Planet Mu. He is an artist who always seems to be at the spearhead of low frequency electronics; a pioneer of new styles, often copied but never equaled.
His live-show is a testament to this, brain-flexing beats, deafening bass and razor sharp synths, twisting and turning as it hops from one genre to the next. Dance-floor mayhem guaranteed.
Sunil Sharpe is one of Ireland’s most celebrated underground DJs. Honing his turntable skills in the late ‘90s, Sunil quickly gained a formidable reputation for his quick-fire mixing and fast-paced sets. Before long he was invited to play at Berlin’s Tresor Club in 2001 - the first of many European events since. He has recorded for labels such as Tonewrecker, Bastardo Electrico, Open Source and his own Mantrap Recordings. 2011 sees the release of EPs by Sunil on Labrynth, Takeover, and Black Sun Productions with various tracks and remixes on other labels to come. He's also one half of Tricaustic on Komisch records.
A firm believer in playing the very best records he has rather than only the new, Sunil’s DJ sets reflect his favourite styles from the past up to the present, with his trademark techno energy showing no sign of letting up.
Dubliner Eomac, aka Ian McDonnell, aka half of Lakker, has extensive experience moving dance-floors and shaking walls with the !Kaboogie crew over the past few years. His recent EPs on Hsuan Recordings and Invisible Agent are already among 2011′s essential releases. With more sickening productions in the pipeline, Eomac is a name that is on the verge of exploding onto the scene. Remember where you heard him first!
Lakker have just been signed to Berlin's Killekill label, with festival airplay from no less than Aphex Twin. Expect it to be big! For the 10th, Ian will be lashing out a genre-jumping DJ set that could go anywhere from Grime to Breakcore. Watchaself.
Skank DJs Swarm Intelligence & Rory St John will be bringing things kicking and screaming to a close with just the wrong mix of demented beats and bass.
