Kicking off at six o’clock, two Fridays a month, is ‘SPOiLT' – an ideal way to wind up your regular working week, and to enter the weekend events, in full swing!
SPOiLT is back for the third consecutive week running - not bad for a "fortnightly" event ;)
Massive props to Robbie Lowe for last Friday. As expected his tunes and mixing were absolutely spot on. It's not hard to see how he has earned the profile that he has!
Love to do it all again soon, Robbie!
We are indeed continuing with the quality guests. For the first time since February, we will be welcoming a nice young chap by the name of Andrew Wowk.
ABOUT ANDREW WOWK
Andrew Wowk is known for the delivering the goods, on a very consistent basis.
Specifically, he did just that for us at SPOiLT back in February. He did so when warming up for Hybrid just recently - and we're all too sure he is about to do it for us again, this coming Friday.
I'd be quite surprised if many Sydney scene regulars have been and gone without viewing, hearing about or hearing from Andrew Wowk.
He's been heavily involved in the Sydney dance music scene for some time, as a DJ, promoter, event and music reviewer, Internet radio show host, and more recently, a producer!
As a result, we're absolutely chuffed to have him come and play for us.
And here is an insight into his (official) bio:
Andrew's introduction to DJing came at the age of 16 through work experience at the old community radio station, Rhythm FM, where he watched DJs such as Mark Dynamix, Leah, Damian Goundrie and Jack McCord mix on air, and became intrigued by the concept of constructing a DJ set. Since then, Andrew has gone on to achieve highly as a DJ.
In May 2004 and 2006 he secured 3rd and 1st place respectively in the Sydney University DJ Competition. He has also been invited to support artists/DJs such as Anthony Pappa, James Zabiela, Sven Vath, Dubfire, Steve Lawler, Funk D’Void, Phil Kieran, Rowan Blades, Vince Watson, Lee Coombs, Thomas Schumacher, Thomas Muller, Dario Zenker, Worthy, Audion, Oxia, Format: B, Alex Smoke, Arnaud Le Texier, Marc Houle, Gaiser, Slam, Silicone Soul, Fergie, Skool Of Thought, Marco Resmann, Simon Baker, Derrick Carter, Kazu Kimura, Butch, Johnny D, Tipper, Andrea Bertolini, Kevin Griffiths, Ekkohaus, Luke Le Mans, Rogue Element, King Roc, Clive Morley, Lady Waks, Phil K, Dave Pham, Dean Millson, Danny Bonicci, Rollin' Connection, and Kriece. He has also played guest sets in Melbourne at the popular Darkbeat and Intermission parties, and was invited to play at the Space Ibiza New Years Day Festival in 2011.
Andrew plays a variety of sounds from across the spectrum of house and techno, as well as drum & bass, dubstep and experimental / electronica.
Andrew previously co-promoted "Fresh Meat" in the Cave at Chinese Laundry, Subservice and Eat Musik, which featured guests such as Danny Bonnici (Melbourne), Rollin’ Connection (Melbourne), Dave Pham (Melbourne), Dean Millson (Melbourne) and Kriece (Perth).
More recently, Andrew has forayed into production. His first track 'Never Satisfied' (co-produced with Mortlock) was signed to Baroque Recordings, included on the 'Exploring Australia' compilation, receiving a remix by Matt Rowan.
