, Project Nightlife
For our launch night for Project Nightlife Saturdays, we welcome Sumo Records for a label showcase like no other and we are proud to present none other than Mele!!
Tipped as one of the producers to watch in 2011 by Fact Magazine, the hype surrounding newcomer Melé already has heads taking notice. At just 18, he is already recognised as a promising producer with a series of releases that have got both artists and critics hungry ...for more.
With a unique sound, Melé is capable of delivering on every level - from progressive club music to deeper minimal productions interspersed with deadly deep subs. It’s Melé’s rhythmic inventiveness, and virtuoso touches that really set him apart.
Setting a relentless pace with his own productions, he’s already released EPs on Sound Of Sumo and Mixpak Records. These, and his forthcoming release on Sinden’s Grizzly label, play testament to his prolific producing ability. As for remixes, he’s been working with the best, having been asked to rework tracks by the likes of Skepta, Mad Decent’s Mumdance and Fools Gold heavyweight, Greenmoney.
Artists like Toddla T, Brodinski, Sinden, Lvis 1990 and Hervé are already big fans of his work, and club promoters are queuing up to join the party. To say the future looks bright would be an understatement, the sun be shining all day for Melé right now. To quote his mentor, Sinden, ‘Melé has the world at his feet’.
Providing support will be Manchester local and Sumo Regular, Submerse.
Hailing from Cheshire, Submerse is an esteemed DJ/producer with a distinct and recognisable sound that traverses two-step, garage, bassline and funky whilst being punctuated by a myriad of unique and personal influences.
The past two years have seen the Sub.FM regular at his most prolific, releasing records on his own label, Night Audio, alongside the highly acclaimed ‘Hold It Down’ on Well Rounded Records, EPs on L2S, Slime, Mutant Bass, Maltine Records (Japan) and Fortified Audio with remixes appearing on releases from Atlantic Records and Swing and Skip.
His ever-evolving style has earned him the respect of his peers worldwide and he’s set to conclude a year of non-stop beat-making and DJing across clubs in Europe, US and Canada. He has also been working with the Klaxons producing tracks for there new album and had tracks featured by Pioneer Japan on some of there latest equipment.
Amidst a plenitude of productions, 2010 also saw a sponsorship deal with Terratag Clothing and support emerge from influential media titans such as DJ Mag, XLR8R, Big Up, Radio 1 and Ministry of Sound Radio, with him playing and hosting the Essential Garage Show more than once on the latter.
With preparations already underway for his Japan tour, Ministry Of Sound Tour and far to many bookings to name, 2011 is his year.
Playing with these two amazing artists is a strong support from label boss Kry Wolf, Kingsin and Tom Shanks.
