Promoter / Mile Wide Smile Club
Mark E first started out as a DJ in the mid 90's and his since madea a worldwide name for himself.
Predominantly playing House music to crowds in and around the Midlands he suddenly gained recognition when he started to 'play around with a few beats' on a production level in the mid noughties. Out of those smoky sessions came his amazing edit of Womack & Womack's 'Baby I'm Scared Of You'. Simply entitled 'Scared', Mark's edit launched him very quickly onto the radar of everone from Gilles Peterson to Theo Parrish (Theo actually sent an email to him, telling him to start making his own beats!) Since then, his feet have hardly touched the ground. Quickly making a name for himself as the re-edit king; a moniker he is actually not too happy about!
Mark is much more than a great remix man; it is fair to say that he has been pivotal in creating the House scene as we know and love it today. He has played a massive part in the slo-mo Disco House sound that has been so incredibly huge over the last five or six years. He has achieved over 20 releases, God knows how many remixes, two albums of edits and re-works, and his brilliant self produced debut album, which dropped earlier this year - of which 2 of the tracks were included in Sven Vath's prestigious Sound Of The Twelfth Season. It is fair to say that Mark e is pretty dang prolific. He now commands large fees and tours the world, playing at many of the major clubs and festivals.
We are pleased as punch that Mark is attending Riki-Tik for Mile Wide Smile Club.
