Summertime is finally at our doors, aren’t we excited!!!

For our first event outdoor, we are very excited to welcome to the decks a very special guest, Matthew Herbert.

A real alchemist and inspiration in all eyes of young producers around the world, Matthew Herbert brings something truly unique to the table. First taking centre stage with a simple packet of crisps and a sampler back in 1995- way before the revolution in musique concréte; And now to his most critically acclaimed album touring the UK this summer ‘One Pig’; With ingredients made up of a pig’s anatomy, his own personal chef, an orchestra and a few pots and pans- portraying the life of a Kentish pig from birth to plate.
Mixing up the sounds of an electric toothbrush, food packaging and an RAF Tornado Bomber to help bring to life an infectiously groovy electronic, jazz- infused house sound whilst delivering an important political message all at the same time.
Having collaborated with Dani Siciliano, Moloko singer Roisin Murphy and his Jazz ‘Big Band’ throughout his career, running his own record label ‘Accidental’, travelling the world spreading his individual sound, performing in famous venues such as Sydney’s Opera House, Hollywood Bowl, Royal Court whilst sticking to a strict manifesto when producing numerous successful projects over the years- to name a few ‘Around the House (1998)’, ‘Bodily functions (2001)’, Plat Du Jour (2004)’; It is safe to say Matthew Herbert has been very busy man in his musical career- 723 objects sampled and it doesn’t end here: ‘From bedroom samplers to concert halls, Herbert continues to expand the horizons of electro-organic music.’

It is a rarity to see Matthew Herbert perform a DJ set, so we can’t express enough how much this will tickle your tastebuds! You really have to see it, feel it, experience it to believe it!
