featuring NYC's
MISS HONEY DIJON
(Digital Disco)
A native of the Windy City, Honey was first inspired by the legendary house sounds of DJ pioneers such as Ron Hardy, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, and Frankie Knuckles. When she moved to New York, Honey became great friends with even more influential DJs, including the legendary Danny Tenaglia, who finally urged her to get behind the decks. Seducing club-goers with her unique sound all over the world, she is becoming a must-see DJ in many cities and a mainstay here in Toronto headlining both on Pride Toronto and the Labour Day Picnic at Sunnyside Pavilion earlier this year.
Although she spins a distinct Chicago sound with inflections of the deep New York & European underground, Miss Honey Dijon prides herself on a style that is all her own. In fact, Honey is one of the few DJs in recent years to defy pigeon-holing. She draws from a wide repertoire of musical styles; from old school Chicago house, disco, tech-house, tribal, funk, soul, and R&B. As a gifted and experienced DJ, Honey knows how to manipulate any crowd, especially here in Toronto. Whether she is easing them into a deeper vibe with the dark sounds of techno, or lifting them up with pumping house, she knows how to rock a party and work a sound system.
Honey's roots in Toronto go back to the legendary Industry nightclub in the late 90's where she shared the decks with Derrick Carter on several magical occasions, including the club's largest Halloween party in 1997 that attracted 2,300+. Since then she has made regular stops in Toronto, building a loyal and strong dance floor fan base along the way. That was evident this summer where she re-connected with her crowd like never before, stealing the show with her high energy mix of Chicago, New York and European inspired dance floor heaters.
