On January, 6th, 2012 the underground techno party STATIC kicks off at our new location at Groove Suite!

We're excited to welcome back one of our favorite Pacific Northwest-based techno artists, dj/producer John Massey of Seattle. SubSensory residents JAK and LilRoj will be on deck and KC-PDX transplant Andrew Boie will set the mood for the evening with a special warm up set. All this, played for your enjoyment on the warm and friendly Alignment Soundsystem!

John Massey - From 0-1 - Seattle

Brooklyn native John Massey has been attempting to damage eardrums for almost 14 years. A child of the 80's, Massey transplanted to Los Angeles as a teen where he discovered an emerging underground dance scene and was infected with an interest in electronic music. Founding Sound Rehab Productions, Massey connected with influential local promoters and artists such as Zero One, Drumcell, Paco Herte, Ron-d-Core, and Raiz (Acid Circus) and began coordinating techno events, working the DJ circuit throughout the southern California area. He now resides in Seattle.

In recent years, Massey has made appearances at events such as Decibel Festival, the Closer Festival in Portland, and frequent club and after-hours gigs around the Pacific Northwest. Currently performing a live/DJ hybrid set-up with four decks and two-controllers, Massey creatively blends a wide variety of techno, minimal, and experimental sounds.

John's recent breakthrough remix and production work for the From 0-1 label has been garnering plays by techno's best known artists including Adam Beyer. He has released on key US techno labels including Droid Recordings, the net label Bleep Sequence, Portand’s SubSensory Recordings, and of course From 0-1. Look out PDX, this man is capable of doing some serious dancefloor damage!
