White Label™ DJs
Crimson Lounge is excited to partner with Bacardi USA to present the December lineup of Commonwealth Wednesday, a communal weekly industry night. On Wednesday, December 14, Commonwealth will feature dynamic house music DJ Marcus Worgull together with White Label co-founder Sadie Woods from 9:00pm until 2:00am. Head to Crimson Lounge for Commonwealth to experience what Time Out Chicago calls "a mid week haven of sultry underground sounds.”

Marcus Worgull’s passion for music began in the late 80s while growing up in cozy Wuppertal near Cologne, Germany. Through lots of learning, digging, searching, Worgull began his travel through the world of music. Hip hop, reggae, funk, soul records were all purchased with his lunch and pocket money at a small store named Groove Attack. Worgull got his fingers dusty there and as fate would have it, the store moved to Cologne, mutated into a distributor along the way, and is now run by Marcus himself. At around the same time, Marcus snuck into clubs like the Beat Box to hear DJs such as Norman Jay or Gilles Peterson selecting before cutting his teeth as a DJ at the infamous U-Club. At U-Club, MW took over the fortunes of the “house room” and played from start to finish, learning the art of programming and all the other important disc jockey techniques from scratch. Marcus’ passion for profound, moving house music led him to pursue a life of music. He began delving deeper and deeper into the production side of music and recorded his first 12” for Spectrum Works, followed by the Texel EP including the still ueber-massive “Dragon Loop” for Berlin’s Innervisions imprint. Bound to the label of Dixon and Âme on a professional level—and even more so on a personal one—he is considered part of their inner circle and in-house producers. When he is not working on tracks for IV, you can catch him almost certainly on remix duties for people and labels like The Juan MacLean and DFA, Gerald Mitchell from Underground Resistance fame, Permanent Vacation and Running Back. Above all, Marcus adores the art of moving the crowd on the dancefloor, spending his weekends on planes and trains to carry a bag of records to prized clubs like Robert Johnson, Fabric, Plastic People, Trouw or Sub Club on the regular. Marcus brings his very own selection of well-made and often newly laid house music that knows its roots as well as its yearning for the future when he takes the decks at Crimson Lounge for their acclaimed Commonwealth Wednesday.

Commonwealth takes a new approach to downtown clubbing, and crowds are taking note. The savvy, hip types, people that are deep into music culture, flock to Commonwealth to hear forward-thinking underground dance music, sip on Crimson’s tempting signature cocktails, and enjoy the opulent ambience that makes the lounge a unique gem in the Chicago nightlife scene. Commonwealth guests will be invited to savor drink specials featuring Bacardi rum and flavors. Sip on $6 Bacardi cocktails and enjoy $4 beers as well as 25% off the food menu while the sounds of guest DJ Mazi and resident DJ Sadie Woods flood the room through Crimson’s Funktion One system.
