What an amazing year we have ahead of us .

We start the new year with one of Berlins hottest exports Efdemin

Efdemin, aka Phillip Sollmann, is a Berlin producer who’s careful, calculated grooves have been working dancefloors since his debut release on Dial Records back in 2001. Efdemin's attention to detail as a producer stems from his time spent as a graduate at the Institute for Computer Music in Vienna, where he put together sound installations and worked on contemporary operas. Besides Techno itself, there are many important influences in his music from different sources and other times. From nu jazz to hip hop, a cosmos of music has followed him from the start of his career, influencing his drifting and melancholic approach to producing with every beat. His most recent album 'Chicago' released on Dial last year is a perfect example of these influences, a modern day triumph of genre-spanning deepness. As well as playing the world over, in only the coolest venues and festivals he also used to sing in a band, although you might not know it from his clothes. One of the snappiest dressed men in dance music, Efdemin is rarely spotted not wearing a shirt and tie. A superb DJ, who does not take himself too seriously behind the decks is always a refreshing change, and Efdemin is certainly that, always dancing along as he plays with a grin on his face.

Accompanying Efdemin will be our residents Nyra, Loshea, and Dan Metcalfe.

Nyra will be setting the scene for Efdemin in his own inimitable way.His forward approach to the form has gained him many friends this year in the industry,and he starts 2012 with vinyl releases on labels such as Never Learnt , Freund Der Famille and Elastic dreams with remixes by the likes of Sven Wisemann and Skudge.His debut release on Never Learnt has blown up..It got played 3 times at Berghain/Panorama bar in one night and will be getting reviews in all the scenes major magazines.Watch this space........
