To ease ourselves into the waters, and prepare for the launch of RYAD at DQ on the 27th Jan, we have requested the attendance of all comrades to a FREE house music lecture on the 19th Jan at The Harley.
Objective - to have a night remembered for its music & people
HOT SINCE 82
Not a stranger to the scene, “Hot Since 82†(A.K.A Daley Padley ) has been producing and DJing for over 10 years. He's spent these years wisely, landing sets headlining clubs such as Pacha & Ministry of Sound whilst also focusing on touring the world. Daley has always made waves with his music, reflected in his features Live on BBC Radio 1, his ingenious productions and in the fact some of the world's biggest underground DJs herald him as the breakthrough of 2012. So it’s easy to see that Hot Since 82 has already made a prolific mark on the house music scene.
And just to name a few acts supporting his work.... Jamie Jones, Dj T, Joris Voorn, Siopis, Catz n Dogz, Audiofly etc.. Happy now?
t’s Tuesday evening in a small commercial bar in Sheffield. It’s also Valentine’s Day (a terrible night to throw a party) and a small collective of friends begin their quest to be the first crew to bring a dedicated minimal techno party to the Steel City.
Fast forward 6 years and the guys in question certainly achieved what they set out to do. Hosting parties in pretty much all of the major venues in the city as well as some off kilter terrace parties, evenings in gay bars, warehouse raves and even boat parties! Cargo has had quite a journey.
Since its inception, Cargo has developed into one of the city’s most loved house and techno events; bringing in debut Sheffield appearances for Glimpse, Subb-an, Adam Shelton, Matthew Burton, Deep Space Orchestra as well as rare appearances from ‘Evil’ Eddie Richards and Kevin Gorman. One of the more recent triumphs saw Cargo re-launch the lauded Fez Club back into the Steel City with a dawn performance from Miguel Campbell
Covering all the areas of house music, we expect a wide array of quality house grooves, disco and deep techno from both residents & guests. Their parties represent the the finest in underground music and reveal their greatest factor... raw passion
Recent parties have seen Russ Yallop, H2, Jordan Peak & Richy Ahmed, and now Ryad.
These guys firmly believe in quality and select only the freshest, most innovative artists. This paired with a hugely enthusiastic following leaves Drumroll with an electric atmosphere & fuels the growth of this techno loving clan. Youandewan, Robert James, Scuba, Tigerskin & our own Luk'ant have all headlined.
