The production duo of Rhys Adams and Mark Rae came together under the name Yesking to record the 2008 album “Rock This World”, to much critical acclaim. With a brand new album finished and ready for release in the not-so-distant future and some dazzling remixes of the likes of The Nextmen, Amy Winehouse, Bob Marley and Billie Holliday under his belt, we welcome Rhys to the Bull’s Head decks for a killer DJ set, fusing reggae, hip hop, dancehall, ragga, afrobeat and much, much more.

Headlining on the live front we have Jimmy Davis, whose razor sharp tongue and socially conscious lyrics make his brand of hip hop stand out from the crowd. With fans and collaborators including Ed Sheeran, Luke Concannon, Blak Twang and Damien Dempsey, Davis is clearly a talent not to be missed. Live support comes from Kezia Johnson, better known to most Freestyle regulars as the considerable vocal talent behind Birmingham 7-piece funk / hip hop outfit Genius Collective, and Sherrazi, who will at long last be gracing us with a spiritual trip hop sound all of their own.

The DJ line-up is completed by Steve Bignell, former resident at Birmingham institution Breathless, dusting off his headphones for one last outing at the wheels of steel, Freestyle regular Steve Connelly, and Phil ‘Flash’ Liburd in the downstairs bar.
