****IMPORTANT VENUE CHANGE*****
We were informed yesterday just 4 days before our party this Sunday that we cannot do the party as planned at I Can studios in Hackney Wick.
iCan studios have had to cancel other events in the diary there for all of the Olympics duration. Not only this they were told that Monier road that is next to the venue would be the base used for the army during the olympics in that area.
We are indeed gutted to have had the rug pulled from under us at such short notice but also relieved that we have found a fantastic replacement venue.
We have moved the party to the Loft studios in West London. Loft studios a fantastic space in Kensal Green has been the spot for a number of hot parties in recent months including the 2020 vision party with Loco Dice, Tini and co and also recently Electric Minds moved a party there with Ame, BNJMN and our very own Sven Weisemann. For those of you that have not been there the space is a number of interlinking studios / loft spaces - really very beautiful and a cut above your average scuzzy warehouse space - definitely totally fits the Loft tag but the central attraction is indeed that they have a central courtyard that is open air with covers if it rains.
We are sorry there is nothing we could have done to prevent this. We are 100% sure that it is totally worth the journey west and for those that live west side that come over east to see us so regularly well it was about time!
So the weather hopefully will hold out and if so it looks like we have all the ingredients to make this a very special secretsundaze.
Travel Options:
The London Overground line runs to Willesden Junction from RIchmond and also is served by the East London line from Hackney Wick, Dalston etc
Willesden Junction is on the Bakerloo line if coming from Central London
After a killer sell out roof party at the Bussey Building with underground hero Dan Bell and UK fast rising star Braiden on June 3rd secretsundaze return at the end of the month for another party with 3 more fabulous guest DJs with Cadenza's Mayaan Nidam, one of our favourite and most regular guests Fred P (Soul People Music / Black Jazz Consortium) and Bristol based producer and DJ October (TANSTAAFL, Simple, Skudge).
Mayaan Nidam aka Miss Fitz has been doing her thing for quite some time. Originating from Israel she as many electronic music artists now resides in Berlin. With early outings on Frankfurt based Raum label alongside her friend Shaun Reeves and also collaborations with Vera as Mara Trax she has blossomed into a unique solo artist with an interesting take on electronic music. Her debut self titled LP with its intricate electronic stylings combined with more folk and ethnic influences won her many fans. She then went on to produce great EP's for labels as significant as Zip's seminal Perlon imprint. She has now just released her second LP on Luciano's Cadenza imprint entitled "New moon" which has a kaleidoscope of influnces yet sounding coherent and fresh. It is perhaps most pertinent to mention her DJing skills....she is without doubt one of the very best female House DJs we have ever heard and much like her good friend Zip has a fantastic way of presenting old nuggets and treats alongside new diamonds so it's perhaps long overdue that she layed it down at secretsundaze.
Fred P should need no introduction to secretsundaze fans. This will be his 3rd appearance for us and he is indeed the real deal with a non compromise approach to music and indeed DJing marking him out as a serious talent and one of the next generation of New York DJs / producers taking the sound to a new place. Through his releases on his excellent Soul People Music as both Fred P and Black Jazz Consortium and his collaborations with the likes of Move D, Fred's sound is often deep yet quite spiritual and moving and with tracks like the legendary "Horizon's" and "Emotive Vibrations". His DJ sets are always highly anticipated and this will be no exception.
Last up we have one of our favourite new artists "new" in the sense that he is just finally being recognised for his talents but has indeed been making great tracks in his analogue based lab in Bristol for many years: October (TAANSTAAFL, Simple). Jules as he is known by his friends has great taste and great skills. 2012 really should be his best year yet with the massive Lil Louis influenced jam "Planet of Minds " on his own Taaanstafl imprint doing massive dancefloor damage and other recent releases including "Push" on the mighty Skudge label and "String Theory" on Simple all doing serious dancefloor damage.
