Salva is coming to Glasslands on Saturday, January 28th, with Shlohmo and an awesome DJ set by Lauren Dillard (of CREEP). Let's get down!
- SALVA -
Paul Salva wears many hats-promoter, producer, DJ, and head of San Francisco-based label and crew Frite Nite. Growing up in Chicago and refining his sound in the Bay Area, Salva successfully blends heavy bass drops, scintillating synthesizers, and samples to create a funky sound all his own that will get your body moving. He dropped his debut LP Complex Housing in February 2011 and his Yellobone EP in November 2011, both via Friends of Friends. Already praised by Low End Theory artists in Los Angeles and LuckyMe crews in the UK, we've only gotten a taste of Salva's talents thus far and can't wait to see where his career takes him.
- SHLOHMO -
Shlohmo is the moniker of Henry Laufer, a Los Angeles producer who has been making beats since he was fourteen. Shlohmo weaves rough, scratchy textures and obscure samples with heavy beats to create an aurally pleasing and danceable lo-fi sound. In August 2011, Shlohmo dropped his debut LP Bad Vibes via Friends of Friends, and in December, he reissued his mini-album Shlo-Fi via Error Broadcast. We're incredibly excited to have him back at Glasslands!
We'll have New York's Lauren Dillard, one half of the beloved local duo CREEP warming up the night for us. Let's dance, y'all! :D
