Last years St Patrick's day in Limerick saw the first collective Macronite effort to bring a big ass party to Limerick. They crew brought two giants of their respective fields, Drum n Bass Don Markus Intalex and Japanese Dub master Goth trad.
The day & night was of epic proportions and this year Macronite have pulled out all the stops and are basically bringing you a festival line up for St Patrick's day.....after all it is the first St Patrick's day to fall on a Saturday so all guns will blaze on March 17th.
Since last years Macronite St Patrick day celebations the crew have built up a reputation at home and abroad for running their events and gigs at the highest of standards, always incorporating the very best sound, lighting and visual displays possible. In Dj Mags 2011 December issue the lads were given a full page review and a summary of the review goes like -
"this Limerick night, uniting the best underground styles in a way that reflects the status quo of cutting-edge electronics, seems genuinely refreshing"
"Macronite is a force to be reckoned with"
Well boys and girls Macronite have gone beyond even their own expectations for 2012......in fact this years line up is so massive you may need to wear glasses just to read the poster!
Inigo Kennedy returns after wrecking the techno tent at last years Bump festival....anyone who was there will know of the talent this Dj is. Also in the same room comes Anxt, a new name that is set to blow up this year. With having a mix hosted on Boiler room and also being a booker for the prestigious Littlebig agency who look after artists like Aphex Twin, Bytone and squarepusher! This man knows electronic music like it was his first language.
Ireland's Lakker will also debut their AV show. Lakker have rocked clubs across Europe including Berlins legendary Suicide Circus.
In other other areas the crew spend just as much attention to detail. Making his Irish debut is Dub wizard Lurka, a man who is forging the new dark sounds of the post dub step explosion on labels like blackbox & boxclever.
For all the breaks freaks Macronite bring you a special treat in the guise of Double O....one of Jungles true quality exports.
The day will kick off from 2pm and rage until 3am across all areas.
This show has, for the last 3 years, sold out early so we are advising people to get down as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
This will be set to be the best electronic music showcase event of the St Patricks day calendar ...the fact that it falls on a Saturday makes everything that little bit better.
Get ready....the count down begins
