A Dj since the early 90s, Jafar has long established himself as a musical force to be reckoned with via a consistent flow of releases, remixes and international gigs these past 18 years. His turntablist antics have long marked him out as a seriously versatile technician; A winner of Musik Mag’s ‘Bedroom Bedlam’ (2000), a winner of IDJ's respected ‘Reader’s Mix’ (2001), Dj Mags ‘Rising Star of Deep House’in 2004 and continues to receive rave reviews for both his Artizan Music label and releases around the world..
Having amassed over 100 releases and remixes across respected House and Techno labels including Neurotraxx, 3AM, Toolroom, Nacho Marco's LoudEast, Huddtraxx, Pesto, Hustle Music, Universal Vibes, Blacksoul, Hydraulix, Gravitation, Berwick St and of course Universal Vibes and the Artizan Music imprint, he has also collaborated on works with Rich Medina, Marcus Begg and Demarkus Lewis. His remix credits take in Terry Farley, Rithma, Blacksoul, Pete Dafeet and Timo Garcia, whilst he has also been remixed by Roberto Rodriquez, Nacho Marco, Andreas Saag, Kris Wadsworth, Claire Ripley, Moodymanc and Atjazz - Solid gold testament to the respect amongst his contemporaries..
No stranger to running parties (Jafar was a founding member of Mulletover), Artizan Music's long-running 'Uptownboogiedown' residencies, formerly housed at Neighbourhood, Notting Hill Arts Club, The End, Dex Club, Jamm and The Telegraph are now held bi-monthly at Shoreditch fave East Village. Larger Collaborations have featured with Mulletover, Lovebox, Fabric and Retox. Recent guests include Pepe Bradock, Charles Webster, Dj Deep, Halo, Shurikan, Tom Demac and Andreas Saag..
With Jafar and Poussez's releases a main stay in many of his peers charts and dj boxes, their Poussez sets continually in demand, Jafar continues to be a heavyweight player into 2012..
