DJ Rolando (Underground Resistance / Ostgut Ton)
Giles Smith & James Priestley (Secretsundaze)
Original member of Detroit's Underground Resistance (alongside Mike Banks, Jeff Mills, and Robert Hood), founder of Los Hermanos, and creator of one of the all-time great tracks 'Knights of the Jaguar', Rolando is one of the few people who you can justifiably apply the term 'legend'.
Growing up in Detroit, Rolando was influenced by Latin American rhythms and percussion, it was in the 80's that he encountered Jeff Mills and the bourgeoning techno sounds of the city, and from there the rest is history..'Knights of the Jaguar' propelled Rolando (and Underground Resistance) from underground hero to international superstar, one of the few house tracks that has managed to crossover into the mainstream but retain it's respect from the underground community.
Since then Rolando has released music with on-point labels such as NRK, Delsin, Skudge Records, and Ostgut Ton. He also plays out at the world's biggest and best clubs, regularly tearing up dance floors at Berghain/Panorama Bar, U6031, Fabric, Sub Club, and many others. His style is a perfect mix of house, detroit, and melodic techno and we're delighted to welcome Rolando to FZ.
Joining are two chaps you need very little introduction in this space, secretsundaze head honchos, Giles Smith and James Priestley. For the last 10 years secretsundaze has been consistently among the best parties to be found in London and around the world. Their parties have gained a reputation as being some of the most innovative, exciting, and fun places for house and techno, rightly known as one of THE destinations for leading underground DJ's. Aside from running one of London's most successful long-running parties, the boys can be found at party hotspots such as Sonar (their party at La Terrazza has been a favourite of ours for several years), Robert Johnson, Cielo, Panorama Bar, Trouw, and Fabric. A rare occurrence, Giles and James will be playing back to back for this one.
This will be special.
