German born Sebastian Voigt is probably best known as co-founder and one of the driving forces behind the infamous lo*kee parties. Described by Mixmag as “The best (and most private) rendezvous to hit East London in a long time”, this highly intimate experience has grown from its humble beginnings in 2008 in a warehouse in East London to an underground party that is highly respected around the world.
Sebastian started as a scratch DJ at the tender age of 16, spending years to hone his skills before he fell madly in love with the 4/4 bassdrum. This background and many years as a manic record collector combined with his love for a hedonistic rave have shaped his warm and playful sound, drawing elements from House, Techno, Disco and Acid. His versatility and fine-tuned sense of moods have gained him quite the following in the UK, back in Germany and beyond.
Recently teaming up with Eric Volta in the studio, the pairing has proven to be quite a powerhouse. Their first collaboration “42 Weeks” was snapped up by the good folks at My Favorite Robot Records and went straight into the Indie top 20 on Beatport, supported by the likes of Ivan Smagghe, Wolf + Lamb, Roman Flügel, Richy Ahmed, James What and many more. The track was then re-released on the My Favorite Robot Best Of Year Three compilation.
The world of electronic music has taken notice of Sebastian, who is a regular behind the decks at Fabric London and Berlin’s uncompromising Salon Wilde Renate, as well as having played at some of Europe’s coolest venues and underground gatherings such as We Love Space and Zoo Project in Ibiza, Kater Holzig in Berlin and Louche at Mint Club in Leeds to mention a few.
