Your guides for this tour into the land of what’s possible will be:
Although to many Kowton is not a new figure in the underground dance scene, his name is surely one we are going to be hearing a lot of over the coming months….
The past few years have seen Kowton release a string of impressive offerings on cutting edge labels (Naked Lunch, Kassem Mosse’s Ominira imprint, Keysound, Peverelist’s new Label Livity Sound and of course the ever impressive Idle Hands), his sound is undeniably fresh.
Kowton’s music has traversed the traditional sounds of Techno and Dubstep. In his own words it is raw, grooving, House music, something that sits atop the genre meltdown that has happened within theUK’s underground scenes, eschewing exploration in sound, Kowton’s appearance at the nest for Heresy is bound to be a milestone in this exciting new night’s soon to be legend.
West Londonbased producer ‘Data’ has been turning heads with his mature, eclectic approach to modern day electronic music for some years now. Having quickly risen through the ranks with a slew of signings, his tracks have found their way into many a top DJ’s bag irrespective of genre (the likes of Goldie, Skream, EZ and more have been known to drop some Data).Data’s sound is a sculptured exploration of pure ambience.
His percussive grooves and acoustic experimentation provide a new take on current musical trends.
With several huge releases under his belt on labels such as Metalheadz, Tempa and Critical in his discography, Data’s production continues to progress as he prepares his forthcoming album, ‘Making Simple Things Complex’.
SEI ‘A +
Sei’ A moved from his native Glasgowto Londonjust a year ago. Since then he has been immersed in the hybrid house, firm techno and bass-heavy scenes that happily co-exist within the capital. Naturally, then, he has widened his already impressive sonic remit as a result.
Already with two solid critically acclaimed LPs to his name (on French outlet Missive Music and Tiga’s Turbo) Sei A’s musical roots eminated from tech house, now he fuses it’s sparse soundscapes with vivid, emotive sonic works of art that touch on rather more considered house and bass tropes.
Indeed the dichotomy of Frozen Flower and Flux, his two latest EPs on Turbo, show that Sei’A comfortably inhabits both the delicate and the more deliberate ends of the electronic music spectrum.
In summary Sei A’s sound can be described as a mature, moody sound, prizing feeling over fads, though always on the vanguard…
This mysterious artist has been causing waves with their original soca influenced house and ranging, deep post dub step. Not much is known about who he is, rumours and speculation abound, but we will certainly know what he stands for after this appearance. With releases scheduled on Heresy he is certainly a star of the future.
