Promoter / Dub der guten Hoffnung, Urban Bass
Somewhere in a not too distant future, the city has been claimed by hordes of minimalist robots, transmitting their monotonous virus through the airwaves. Alas, there remains one last shimmer of hope in the deepest recesses of Subland.
/// ABOUT THE ARTISTS ///
King Cannibal [government name: Dylan Richards] is a force to be reckoned with. His fierce productions seamlessly fuse elements of Breakcore, Drum & Bass, Dubstep and Dancehall into an all-encompassing soundscape on par with the likes of productional masterminds Amon Tobin & Aphex Twin. In 2009, his debut album "Let the Night Roar" took the world by surprise, demonstrating a darker, more destructive side of the renowned Ninja Tune label. Singles such as 'Arigami Style', 'Murder Us' and 'Dirt feat. Daddy Freddy' received heavy rotation on BBC Radio One.
In late 2010, after several months of compiling and warping a great deal of the Ninja Tune back catalogue, he released "The Way of the Ninja" as a tribute to the labels XXth year of existence. This mind-blowing endeavour which includes over 250 tracks packed into 74 minutes of music "mixed, blended, sliced, diced, torn up and finally rendered to audio" is, simply put, a masterpiece and a must have for every musical Ninja.
