ECHOES returns for its ninth installment at Loop celebrating the influence of Dub in electronic music.
Dub, developed originally in the late sixties focusing on the rhythmic parts of a Reggae recording, grew to be a genre on its own right that has literally shaken the world ever since. It was a powerful experiment that pushed the use of the mixing desk as an instrument and gave greater control to the sound engineer as a producer. It set the blueprint for much of the dance music that has followed.

ECHOES V9.0 will take you on a bass heavy journey from Kingston to Berlin via Detroit and London. For this edition, resident Matic will be joined by Daniel Filipovic and Echoes debutant Paul Agius.

Paul Agius
Paul’s involvement in the local scene dates back to 2002 when he started promoting his own night Likuid. Its popularity saw the party growing to a monthly event respected by both the locals and some international DJs that played in it.
Paul’s tight mixing skills and impeccable programming make him more than qualified to present his dub side at Echoes. Get ready for a musical journey of the highest quality.

Daniel Filipovic
Daniel is back bringing his skills and musical knowledge to Echoes. With many years as a DJ, label owner and radio host, Daniel knows how to create a mood on the dancefloor. His warm up sets are inspiring and, for this edition, he’ll be presenting his vast music library with a special set bridging Dub music from the past to the present.
