El ciclo HOLZOUNDS pretende dejar libre una sala con sonido de calidad a todos los DJs con ganas de pinchar, de enseñar una sesión nueva o proyectos nuevos que quieren compartir. The man behind REBELRADIO.FM, ALCATRIZ has joined forces with HOLZOUNDS (Des-via) & TERRA to curate a night of low down dirty dancefloor moving beats accompanied by a truly international selection of musical selectors, Ikkaku (Belgium), Manok (Brazil), Alcatriz (UK), Ekoo (France), plus Maribel Pincha Discos (España)...

IKKAKU
Born in Italy then moved with his family to BELGIUM, where pioneering TECHNO labels such as R&S and MUSIC MAN also found their homes. Strongly influenced by the early sound of ELECTRO and HIP HOP and by movies such as WILDSTYLE, he progressively got more interested in the electronic sound. After discovering acts such as DAVE CLARKE, DERRICK MAY, JEFF MILLS, and THE ADVENT it was clear for him which was the direction he wanted to take. IKKAKU started expressing his love for techno music through a pair of decks but soon realized he needed something more and started producing. When he moved in BRISTOL (UK) he found a very dynamic musical scene and started together with D-GELO promoting succesful club nights OUT OF PHASE and later CUISINE that still today bring some of the best electronic music acts to the city, and that became one of the most important audio-visual collectives in the UK. In 2003 he finally decided together with D-GELO to form officially MICROPUNTO SCHALLPLATTEN, a concept that both had in mind for a long time and that today is reality. Now living in BARCELONA, after years looking for his own sound, he tries to find a midway point between DETROIT TECHNO, CHICAGO HOUSE and what is today defined as MINIMAL TECHNO. Lately he also found interest in DUBSTEP and after meeting SATTA B then ALIEN PIMP, and released an EP on the renowned DUBKRAFT label. As a member of the legendary B.LOW & CHORIZO collectives, he's also performed epic sets at their parties and radio shows on SUB FM.

MANOK
Originally from BRAZIL, one of the world’s most important RHYTHM hot spots, he was influenced by different musical cultures and quickly got obsessed by BIG BASS and FAT BEATS. His biggest challenge is to keep exploring new styles, without following any one in particular. His first contact with electronic music was with DRUM N BASS in 1997, and since then he has experimented with other sounds like TECHNO, HOUSE, BREAKS and all the other subgenres on the scene today.His first solo project was called "FUNK PEST", a fusion of ”FUNK CARIOCA” with electro and house, which exploded on the “mad” SAO PAULO party scene around the middle of 2004. Now resident in Barcelona, he's the creator of the "YESIDO" party, which brings together styles like FIDGET HOUSE, DUBSTEP, BASSLINE and DUTCH HOUSE. He currently dedicates himself to mixing and EXPERIMENTING with BEATS in his Bedroom Lab and DJing at venues like RAZZMATAZZ and other one-off parties. Dj francés ahora viviendo en Barcelona hace que sus set sean una mezcla de muchos estilos para alternar ritmos y así llevar la gente en una ola de frecuencias que deja todo el mundo saltando esperando el tsunami final! Actualmente su mayor influencia es el label mad decent. En Barcelona ha pinchado en el Relevant, el Boulevard, el Freedonia, el Zentraus, el Café da Madeira, el Sol del Mati, el Malverde, y en las fiestas "Terraza Party".

ALCATRIZ
Born in LONDON, moving to MANCHESTER, Alcatriz was massively influenced by the ACID HOUSE and TECHNO of BUGGED OUT! and HTP plus the ECLECTISM and BASSLINE sounds of EARDRUM and the ELECTRIC CHAIR, which led to organising legendary BASEMENT after-parties. DJ residencies at DA FUNKY CARNIVAL and ROCKET at the OLD FIRE STATION in Bournemouth then followed, plus a prime-time slot on multi award winning radio station NERVE FM. After relocating to BARCELONA he became resident and curator of the infamously debauched DANGER STREET parties playing alongside pioneers of the BARNA BASS scene introducing SUBSOUND, STORMY, CARDOPUSHER, PACHEKO, VOLATIL, SATTA B, NEHUEN, BENVINDA, NICENOISE, MR GASPAROV, REDRUM, TUFFIST, SAMRAI y mucho mas.. ALCATRIZ is also the founder of underground music internet broadcaster – REBELRADIO.FM, also doing his own show which receives thousands of listeners from all over the world, and gave the likes of BLAMMA! BLAMMA!, the 1 and only FAKE BLOOD, italian stallions ze CROOKERS plus london hip hop fidget masters the JACK BEATS airplay and media coverage long before other djs and broadcasters took notice. His shows have also featured special guests including Brooklyn's CHK, CHK, CHK !!! (WARP RECORDS), Kiss FM's dj SINDEN (GRIZZLY), Skwee piooneeer PAVAN (FLOGSTA DANSHALL), Manchester's best band of recent years, THE WHIP (SOUTHERN FRIED), from Toronto via London EGYPTRIXX (NIGHT SLUGS), and more... Dancefloor destroying gigs in BCN have included epic parties at RAZZMATAZZ, SIDECAR, LA CAMARA, PVC CLUB, CASA PACO, RYANS BEACH, PHONK, ESCAPE BABYLON, CASSETTE, LA CLAU, CAFE DA MADEIRA...
