SCRATCH -D of Dynamix II
There are very few acts who can claim to be true pioneers of the Electro Bass sound, but Miami's Legendary David Noller (Alongside and Scott Weiser, aka Dynamix II,) is among a very few of the first wave of American electro and bass music artists to have successfully translated his old-school credentials into current relevance. He’s a producer behind 24 years of roof-raising underground dance floor anthems including the genera defining "Techno Bass", "The Red Pill", "Ignition", and possibly the most recognized Electro Bass anthem produced, the gold record "Just Give the DJ a Break", which has sold well over 600,000 units to date. Scratch D & Dynamix continues to record and perform today, remaining the crowd favorite amongst Electro and Breaks fans. Most of their vinyl LPs and singles released throughout the years remain in print and are highly sought after by DJ's worldwide. Scratch D: http://soundcloud.com/dynamix11
"Nick is one of the most versatile producers I know ... taking everything from house to drum and bass to moombahton and putting his own forward-thinking spin on it. Not genre bound, just music bound." - Skrillex
In his own words, Nick Thayer might be best described as "the musical equivalent of putting seven glow sticks in a blender". As renowned for uninhibited and unashamedly eclectic DJ sets as he is for impeccable production, Nick’s cut-loose mentality is his trademark both in the club and in the studio. “I don’t care about genres. Good music is good music,” he says. You could put this unbound attitude down to his classically trained background, his stint in grunge and funk bands or even his lifelong love of hair rock. Whatever it is, one thing’s certain: Nick Thayer was made for this.
2012 sees Nick signing to Skrillex's OWSLA label with the Like Boom EP. The result is worth the wait; showing scant regard for genres or tempos, or even accepted notions of what club music should be, it promises to rip sound systems apart.
Jen Lasher is a singer, songwriter and DJ who is quickly making a name for herself in the electronic music world, creating a niche with her noir and original music. After years of classical piano training, Jen was inspired to spin and create electronic music. Her music combines electro, funk and new wave with gothic and industrial overtones. Jen started touring when she was 19 and since then has performed in the most popular clubs in the U.S. Jen became friends with DJ Icey and co-wrote and sang in a song called "Rain", which has been featured in several compilations. She met DJ Baby Anne and they became close friends. Baby Anne encouraged Jen to continue her career as a songwriter and DJ and together they released "Battery and Assault" a double CD set which includes Jen's original single, "No More Tears" in which her vocals were run through distortion effects, bordering on the edge of industrial music. Her musical interests range from Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and New Order to cult gothic groups such as Sisters of Mercy and Nine Inch Nails. Her energetic and sensual presence onstage and her passion for music have been gaining her recognition in the electronic music industry worldwide.
The buzz on this hard-boiled and ambitious DJ/producer/director’s rise is a result of his perfect storm combination of Work Ethics, Determination & Talent. On the music tip, Brazen holds his own. He's notorious for flexing some serious dance floor intuition when rocking accessible and dynamic crowd-pleasing sets fueled by many sub-genres of Breakbeat; most notably Miami Bass, Booty & arena-friendly beats. 90% of this artist’s DJ sets are comprised of his own productions, remixes & VIP edits. Brazen calls Miami, Florida home but hails from “the city of champions”, Brockton, Mass; a town famed for churning out spirited pro fighters and college sports titans. Hit tunes from Brazen include “Throwdown” 2004 with Scratch D, “Gangstered” 2008 licensed to Deekline’s Booty Breaks and Oh Snap’s “Hitop Fade”(Bass Remix) 2008. Brazen is the Executive producer of “Bring On The Beats”. Watch for his new label Ballistic Music this year, with an intended steady release schedule of original bangers.
