// Fred Everything //
Fred Everything is a key player in the world of House Music. With over 150 releases and counting, the Deep House producer shows no sign of stopping. Born in Hull (Québec) and raised in Québec City, Fred Everything, born Frédéric Blais, started DJing in the early 90s and releasing records since the mid 90s. He used to be known as just "Everything" because his live sets would range from Techno to House, Ambient and even Drum & Bass. He was touring his live show in Raves and Clubs, armed with his TR-909 and Red SH-101. This landed him an opening spot for a then up and coming DJ from the UK, Sasha in Montréal. In 1995, a first visit to San Francisco opened his mind up to a whole new sound influenced by both East Coast and West Coast House as well as UK House.
In 2005, he founded his own label, Lazy Days Recordings as an outlet to release his own projects and share the music he loves. 5 Years later, the label released music by such diverse acts as Trentemoller, Tortured Soul, Brett Johnson,Lovebirds, Vincenzo, Shur-I-Kan, AtJazz and of course Fred himself. The 20th release/5 years celebration featured a worldwide tour, compilation CD and a special Remix package from the catalog by Ian Pooley, Crazy P, Art Of Tones (Llorca) & legendary british Dj Greg Wilson. The release was awarded "Album Of The Month" in Mixmag (UK). He also launched his popular monthly Lazy Days Podcast (http://lazydaysrecordings.libsyn.com/) which attracts over 5000 unique downloads every month and been downloaded over 100 000 times. After years of working closely with Om Records, Fred relocated from Montreal to San Francisco in 2007 to finish his Lost Together album, based at the infamous Moulton Studios. The LP featured collaborations from Roy Davis Jr, Lisa Shaw, Tortured Soul, Tim Fuller and N’Dea Davenport from The Brand New Heavies.
Recently, Fred produced 3 songs for Montreal duo "Flowers & Sea Creatures" for their album on Buzzin Fly. He also released a Sample pack for the Loopmasters series in the UK called "Deep Analog House". 2012 sees Fred hard at work on Lazy Days Recordings as well as working on a new full length album.
// Halo //
Halo’s career in dance music has always been about evolution. His sonic education and progression throughout his professional life has contributed to his metamorphosis both as a DJ and producer. Credited with a diverse and remarkably long list of productions, remixes and collaborations, a stable and successful independent record labels - Surface Recordings and CityDeep Music, prestigious residencies and a globetrotting DJ schedule, the past few years have seen Halo take the industry by storm.
As a producer, Halo's music always seems to feature equal nods to the robotic and the organic. It's music that points in the direction of where sounds are heading while being rooted in the early dance floor sounds that its maker fell in love with as a teenager. “Being from Chicago, I still love the vintage drum machine sounds mixed with organic rhythms,” he says. Such music, spirit and enthusiasm have earned him a top spot on URB Magazine's Next 100, a nomination for Best DJ in 2003's International Dance Music Awards (IDMAs), two Top 20 finishes in BPM's America's Favorite DJ for 2003 and 2004, and twenty years of making fans. Halo's produced original works, collaborations, and remixes for labels such as MN2S, Large, Siesta, Yoshitoshi, Soma, NRK, Nordic Trax, Foliage, and Orion Music to name a few.
Halo’s blend of deep house and modern sophisticated rhythms is keenly rooted in the early dance floor sounds of New York, Detroit and home town Chicago. The brand of music he has fashioned is comfortable and timeless - it just fits. His productions, which reside in the record boxes of the world’s top DJs, are equally relevant month after month, year after year. Behind the decks, Halo remains among the most respected in the industry and continues to assert that DJing is his first passion. Purveying his music, he has traveled around the world hitting far off destinations such as London, South Africa, Brazil, Buenos Aires, Australia, Singapore, Tel Aviv, Tokyo and the regular hot spots in Europe and the Americas.
