Line-up / Nina Kraviz (Rekids - Russia)
ROLANDO (Ostgut Ton/Delsin/Saved - Detroit)
MikeQ (Fade to Mind/Qween Beat - Newark)
HELIX (Night Slugs - Georgia)
You know that us ICEE HOT guys love throwing intimate parties in little sweatbox venues. We've gotten rowdy many a time with a couple hundred people rammed into a rave sauna, and that's all well and good, but sometimes we just gotta break out and throw a big one for you guys. So we are beyond thrilled to team up with our buddies at PUBLIC WORKS to bring you a two-room ICEE extravaganza featuring NINA KRAVIZ, ROLANDO, MIKEQ, and HELIX!!! WOW!
Topping the bill is Siberian techno high priestess NINA KRAVIZ. Her freshly released self-titled debut album is a smoldering, sensual journey through the deeper realms of techno and house. In just a few short years, she's skyrocketed into the upper echelons of underground royalty, thanks to her top-notch releases on labels such as Rekids, Underground Quality, and more. She's been burning down dancefloors all over the globe with her extended sets that will take you to the outer corners of your mind. We can't wait to see where she takes us on her maiden voyage to San Francisco.
Co-headlining the party, we have an all-time techno legend making a rare US appearance (and his first visit to SF in over a DECADE). ROLANDO is an architect of the hugely influential 'second wave' of Detroit techno. We can sum it up in one word: JAGUAR. This one unbelievable breakout track from 1997 turned techno on its ear and blew away everyone's preconcieved notions of what this music could do. It's so legendary that we won't waste your time explaining it. You should already know. If not, go check it NOW. But the man is so much more than one song: he's released tunes on UR, Ostgut Ton, Delsin, his own Los Hermanos records, and many other imprints, so his pedigree is un-fuck-withable. Also, he is a BEAST behind the decks, so bring a pen and paper 'cuz he's gonna take us to school.
If you're looking to VOGUE and get CUNTY, please report to the Oddjob Loft for the return of MIKEQ. The ballroom poster boy has come a long way since his ICEE HOT debut last February. Vogue house and ballroom have become household names (OK, maybe not quite, but you get what we mean), and Mike is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the genre. The Jersey boy has spread the "HA" gospel all over the States, Europe, and Japan, and his debut EP on Kingdom's Fade To Mind label has only solidified his status as a badman producer to be reckoned with. Wear light clothing and do some stretching beforehand, as Mr. Q is gonna whip that ass into shape.
Topping it all off, we've got Savannah, Georgia-based young buck HELIX making his SF debut. Not much is known about this mysterious figure other than the fact the he makes SICK TUNES. His heavy productions have been getting all kinds of love from folks like Ben UFO, Bok Bok, Oneman, and more. Bass fiends around the world have been drooling over his dubs for months now, and with releases slated for Night Slugs and All Caps, his profile is sure to blow very soon. Come check out his LIVE PA set and see what all the fuss is about.
Per usual, your ICEE dawgs GHOSTS ON TAPE, SHAWN REYNALDO, AND ROLLIE FINGERS will also be there to turn up the heat in the early-ish hours. Make sure to eat a healthy breakfast and stay hydrated 'cuz this one gonna go late!
