BE serves up an eclectic box of surprises
A tremendous line-up with a huge box of surprises, the line-up for BE has just been announced – and it’s going to get even bigger!
In collaboration with Toolroom Knights who are this year hosting the Terrace, BE prepared every Wednesday to see some of the hottest and most legendary artists today, kicking off with the opening party on May 30th where the leading Knight in shining armour, Toolroom boss Mark Knight will be spinning alongside British sensations Friendly Fires as they take to the decks with an exclusive DJ set. One of the veterans of dance, Grandmaster Flash, will also be making a special appearance, taking over the dancefloor with his vintage meets contemporary beats.
Since its launch in 2004, Toolroom Records has become one of the most prominent labels of the electronic scene, as well as one of the most successful record labels on Beatport. 2011 was Toolroom’s first year at Space and year two is going to be much, much bigger and even better!
Announcing the other massive names to grace the BE arena this season will include house expert Wally Lopez and electro-house hotshot Fedde Le Grand - both back after setting BE on fire last season - Green Velvet, Umek, Funkagenda, Kaskade, Chris Lake, Stefano Noferini, Michael Woods, John Dahlback, Fedde Le Grand and Napolitan boundary breaker Riva Starr have also been confirmed.
BE residents Marcoloco and Oscar Cano complete the line-up, both unshakable at every single one of the amazing parties every Wednesday.
BE has always retained that undeniable spark of unpredictability since it began in 2008, creating a completely new concept by fusing the freshest, hottest and most energy-packed artists together with the masters. Space brought Danny Tenaglia to the table as a resident in 2009 – we’re sad to hear he’s going to be hanging up his earphones – but with such respected artists, this just added to the power of the concept of bringing masters and fresh talent together - something that simply blends music lovers from every walk of life.
The undeniable power of this fusion of the best of electronic music and pushing the boundaries brings us back to the opening of BE and our exciting announcement that chart-toppers Friendly Fires and their brand of British slightly punk dance mixed with clever lyrics will be gracing the stage.
Their unique concept of punk electronic have made them a firm favourite amongst clubbers, hence why they’re now getting ready to show what they’re made of with a DJ set at the opening of BE. As will a legend in house music meets hip-hop, Grandmaster Flash - one of the first DJs to make the turntable an instrument – who will be showing the Space Terrace how the masters really mix it up. To top off this spectacular summer line-up, BE will end the season in style on October 3rd with the mythical Umek alongside Sander Van Doorn.
