Lenny Posso is one of the best local techno DJs and the head of the excellent record label Thema, which since its inception in 2006 has gained more momentum and world-wide recognition with each consecutive release. Past year has undoubtedly seen the label rise to the next level of international recognition with classy and classic releases by Terrence Dixon, Norm Talley and Christopher Rau and there's no sign of slowing down.
DatKat's mission is a simple one: to move people. Gracing the decks at the likes of Moscow’s legendary Club Propaganda for the popular Voices: party, hosted by Nina Kraviz, the Academy Club in Montreal, as well as Xlib Club and Sky Art Cafe in Kiev, Ukraine, the self described audiophile has been doing just that for ten years and counting. An inaugural member of East Village Radio, one of the world’s most progressive and independent online music forums, she has always been a tastemaker, with a musical personality that can be best described as exploratory, innovative, and unconventional. With the recent end of Analog Soul on eastvillageradio.com, which she co-hosted with identical twin sister Jacquelyn Sommer, DatKat is now expanding on her foundation and transitioning into her new role as a Music Producer. She currently splits her time between New York City and the rest of the globe, mining for sound gems.
DJ Jacquelyn Smith (aka Jacky Sommer) has always maintained an immense passion for music and the creative arts. Born in San Francisco, she was exposed to a diverse community of cultures, people, music, and the visual and performing arts. In 2002, an acceptance to the famed Alvin Ailey School would see her off to New York. In that same year she would land a job the legendary Dance Tracks records and ultimately become the techno Buyer, Store Manager And content/label manager for Dance Tracks Digital. She also, alongside her identical twin sister, held down a long running radio show, Analog Soul, on the NYC based internet radio station, East Village Radio. The show, “an exploration in the sound of the deeper underground”, spanned many genres of electronic music — house, techno, dub, d+b, downtempo, etc., but primarily pushed a deeper darker side of techno along the vein of Robert Hood, Jeff Mills, Theo Parrish and Matthew Dear. She has been able to work with and be amongst some of the biggest names in dance music like Theo Parrish, Kenny Larkin, Danny Krivit, Robert Owens, DJ Pierre, Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Jus-Ed, Mike Grant, X-Press 2, King Britt, Giles Peterson, and Deadmau5, to name a small few.
A.Arias is familiar to pretty much anyone who's interested in hearing truly underground deep sounds in this city. Known first and foremost as a true dance music crate-digger who manages to find the rarest of lost gems that manage to slip through the cracks, he's been active in the past year with his party Algo Rhythm, a collab with Jm De Frias of Sequencias label. Since the party's been active they have featured names like DjSotofett (Sex Tags) Marcellus Pittmann, Madteo, DVS1, Oskar Offerman, Patrick Russell.
Please come out and show your support for the Underground and it's continued movement.
