Slippery welcome Shur-i-kan from Dark Energy and Freerange records to join the usual crew on the decks at the Star of Bethnal Green on Thursday 19th April.
Shur-i-kan (aka Tom Szirtes) has previously played keyboards with various bands in and around London and still contributes to improvisional dance super group The Bays. He has a long running relationship with the Freerange Records label, releasing two studio albums with them and plenty of great EP’s, we recommend you check out ‘Living Inside’, ‘I Want It’, ‘Special Powers’, ‘Future Fantasy’ and ‘Letting You Down’. Keeping busy Shur-i-kan started Dark Energy Recordings with Milton Jackson, in March he released ‘Like Rick Says’, an absolute beaut, check it out.
We also have newcomer Ted Alexander coming down, Ted tells us he’s been beavering away in the studio for the last year and from what we’ve heard it’s all good stuff, looking forward to hearing more at Slippery. And of course your trusty residents will be slipping on a few tunes between blowing the froth off pints of beer so come on down and get the weekend started a day early.
