This month's bout sees two local heavyweights going toe to toe. saca la mois DJ!! is one of the universe’s most passionate ambassadors of Nueva Cumbia, his unique collection and DJ style – often including Mexican-style MCing, laser sfx and refreshing rhythm changes – has made him a regular on the Australian and European festival circuits. Known to drop plenty of digital-dubplates sourced straight from like-minded local and international producers, saca la mois DJ!! is also a producer in his own right as a founding member of the Cumbia Cosmonauts.
Meanwhile, donning the gloves in the red corner is equatorial jamsmith, Lewis CanCut. A regular on the Melbourne club circuit, Lewis has been playing his signature blend of world beats, percussive house and tropical disco for 7 years. During this time he has held down residencies at the likes of Revolver, First Floor, Lucky Coq, Workshop and more, and is one third of the Congo Tardis #1 crew.
