"THINGS WILL BE BETTER IN FUTURE TIMES"
I have fond memories learning about dance music years ago at Andrew Field-Pickering (of Beautiful Swimmers)'s cabin in Gettysberg Pennsylvania, where he threw all night summer parties, and everyone watched the sun rise together. Those parties have inspired all the Mutual Dreaming events but especially this one, because the crew are coming up from DC this Saturday to do a marathon all night warehouse party in that tradition.
Bringing their afro/new age inflected hard hitting house vibe, FUTURE TIMES's mainstays Beautiful Swimmers take us for a ride with a 6 hour marathon DJ set, and Protect-U & Slava play live. Were transforming the warehouse with underwater visuals theme, a new huge discoball & fog as usual. And also renting extra tweeters for a sound upgrade! Come dance.

Beautiful Swimmers are some of my favorite DJs in the world. Leading a movement in DC and DJing all over Europe with Theo Parrish and other heavyweights, these two vibemasters play the craziest records and make the grooviest tunes. As producers they've put out three releases on Andrew (AKA Maxmillion Dunbar)'s own Future Times label and tons of remixes. As DJs, they ride the good feeling with rare boogie/funk/house/cosmic dance music. They destroyed it at PS1 last year - so excited to have them all night! Rare appearance in NYC, not to be missed.
Future Times' inhouse live band - Mike Petillo is co-owner of the label, and he and Aaron Leitko bring out tons of sick analog gear- expect shimmering synths and tribal, heavy 707 patterns. They have two records on FT, a 12" on Soft Rocks' label Vibrations, and an upcoming 12" on Planet Mu.
Slava has excellent releases on Future Times, Heiroglyphic Being's label Mathematics, and a recent one on Ford & Lopatin's label Software. Ever a shapeshifter we can expect evolving grooves that tread the line between house/juke/afro.
